An old Lutheran church, that has mass in German once a month, is being destroyed by fire right now a few blocks from Harvard Square. A sixth alarm has sounded, streets are closed, and some homes may be evacuated.
Given that it is Easter Sunday, I can't help but speculate about anti-Christian terrorism.
My mother's whole family and half of my Dad's were descended from German Lutheran immigrants.
I know all about Massachusetts, and Cambridge, but this was an active and faithful congregation, please pray for them.

Or it could be someone didn’t properly snuff the candles after mass, or left the stove on.

This is what the church looked like before the fire.

I think it might be, now that you pointed it out. I was just looking for a stock photo to show what the church looks like as I am familiar with that church and that general area.

I’m gonna guess either candles, or antifa atheists.

This is an ELCA “church” so quite likely. I am very sorry for their loss and the loss of a beautiful historic building. However the ELCA is not a confessional Lutheran church but rather an apostate woke social club that meets on Sundays . I feel worse for the loss of their Biblical roots than for their building.

On Easter Sunday. What a shame for such a historic Church (or any Church) to be destroyed, and especially on Easter Sunday. It’s possible it was an accident but also very possible that it was arson.

Of course if it is a church that has gone “woke” it might be God sending them a message.

I am familiar with that church and that general area. Ditto, although I left Cambridge in 1977, never to return. Very sad event.
To: Jim Noble
I imagine fire code may be amended after their investigation is done.

Could be horrible coincidence.
I’m shocked, since Lutherans (Germans in general) are rare in New England. Chances are it would be a Congregationalist church.
God bless them on Easter.
