MSNBC’s Mitchell Suggests Australian-Style ‘Buyback’ in Wake of Louisville Shooting
Breiitbart ^ | 04/10/2023 | Jeff Poor

Although all the details are still emerging from a shooting that left four dead in Louisville, KY earlier in the day, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell is speculating about a what-if scenario and what could be done if the alleged assailant was using a so-called assault rifle.

Mitchell suggested that “if” the Louisville incident turned out to be the result of using an assault rifle, how much damage may have been done to the victim’s bodies.

“Ken, not to be too graphic, but if it does turn out to be that kind of weapon, the damage to your bodily organs, as we’ve seen with — with children, with people unidentifiable, it’s meant for war. It’s not meant for hunting, and it’s not meant for, you know — I mean, not that anything is for this kind of violence, but the damage is just horrific. And that’s why we see so many deaths and critical — people critically injured.”

“Buyback” insinuates the person who sold you the gun purchases it back from you on agreed upon terms at an agreed upon price.

Mitchell is talking about the government taking people’s gun in exchange for a $50.00 Walmart gift card upon an offer you will have no right to refuse.

That’s called gun confiscation.

Gun buybacks always backfire.
People turn in broken weapons and get gift cards for them.

And the people who are most likely to commit crimes with a firearm are never going to give up their weapons.

It’s all for show.

I’ve shot deer at fairly close range with both a 30-06 and 12 gauge 00 buckshot. In the former case, some serious holes were blown in the neck area, and hot breath was escaping as the deer struggled a bit. The latter usually look like they went to sleep.

Loves me some -06 at 100 plus yards, though.

Andrea just shows that she’s drunk the Kool-Aid on terminal ballistics. A raw steak is probably as close to mayhem as she’s ever been.

Voluntary buybacks are fine, good way to get rid of junk or ‘used’ guns for criminals. Whatever.

They don’t mean voluntary though..

It’s been a VERY long time since “journalists” simply REPORTED the news and didn’t give their own personal opinion, the tongue clucking, the eye rolling, the tone of voice, the spin.

.30-06...was originally designed for WAR.

Yeah, but the rounds currently used in war are deemed inhumane to use in hunting. They don’t kill as cleanly as hollow-points.

Open border, mass release of violent felons during covid, a flood of dope, BLM and Antifa riots on demand, crime exploding, the economy crashing, we are threatening war with Iran, Russia and China all at the same time, two stolen elections, perverts and atheists are in charge, mass spying and arrest of dissenters, and it is common in government, academia and the military to discuss me as a while male it terms that are nearly identical to the way Nazis spoke about Jews in the 1930s. And you think I’m going to disarm?

My weapons ain’t for sale, bitch.

I once shot a deer at 100 yards with a 9mm Browning High Power weapon of war and blew both of its entire lungs out. Plus most a kidney of the deer that was standing a half mile behind it.

But I was using NATO 9mm, which was designed for war, not hitler's 9mm Lugar which was designed for hunting.

““Buyback” insinuates the person who sold you the gun purchases it back from you on agreed upon terms at an agreed upon price.”

And that when that person sold it to you, you agreed that at any time of their choosing they could come buy it back from you and you may not refuse.

She said an Aussie style “buyback”. What that means is that they BAN semiautos and demand under penalty of law that you turn them in for destruction. And was you do so they maybe give you 150 bucks or something.

She is not referring to a voluntary turn in your gun event.

Indeed.

To complete the picture ...

The .30-06 cartridge was designed for the M1903 Springfield rifle, US standard during WWI, as an improvement on the .30-03 cartridge. The M1917 Enfield rifle was also built to use the .30-06 cartridge and used extensively in WWI.

The M1 “Garand” was originally designed for a new .270 cal cartridge. Vast stocks of .30 M1 ammunition led to a requirement that the rifle be redesigned for that cartridge instead. And that’s why it has an 8 round clip, rather than 10.

Yep. Evacuating/Caring for wounded soldiers puts more strain on the enemy than an outright kill.
