The leader of an online group behind suspected US military document leaks is national guardsman Jack Teixeira, officials have told NBC News.
Teixeira, 21, is said to have overseen a private online group, containing around 30 people, in which the leaked documents were shared.
He is a member of the intelligence wing of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, according to interviews and documents reviewed by The New York Times.
Officials told Sky News' US partner network, NBC News, that they have been on to him for some time and that an arrest is imminent.
While their accuracy has been questioned, the leaked documents appear to reveal potential vulnerabilities in Ukraine's defences, as well as the numbers of UK special forces allegedly active in the country.
Known as "OG" in the Discord chatroom, the suspect behind the leaks allegedly claimed to spend parts of his day inside a secure facility where phones were banned, according to a story published by the Washington Post.

The leader of a small online gaming group where classified US intelligence documents were leaked is a 21-year-old member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard’s intelligence branch, the New York Times reported Thursday.
According to interviews and documents reviewed by the newspaper, the agents’ interest has focused on the National Guardsman, Jack Teixeira, who oversaw the private group called Thug Shaker Central.
On the other hand, another report from the Wall Street Journal partially confirms this theory, adding that investigators believe the person responsible for the leak would be an Air National Guardsman stationed at Fort Bragg at the time of the leak. In addition, an arrest could occur as early as Thursday.
Why publish his name before he is arrested? Especially in a supposedly “top secret” national security case?

I call to your attention though, that the leadership of all our intelligence agencies were involved in a conspiracy to overthrow a duly elected government of the USA - the Trump administration. Personally I have no respect nor confidence in any of them. Recall, too, that 21 of them signed a letter claiming Trump colluded with Russia - a boldface lie!!!! How could leaders of this stature sign off on such a document?? Yet they did!! None of them should be trusted.
