What “we” (the West) did in the Ukraine is a travesty. We pushed them towards NATO membership, we interfered in their elections/government, and now we have destroyed the nation in a proxy war against a nuclear superpower that is no threat to us.

People tend to revert to declarative statements such as “Putin invaded” the Ukraine. While the statement is true, it ignores the decades long journey that brought us to this point AND it ignores the FACT that the Russian leaders who preceded him AND diplomats in the West all warned about NATO encroachment into the Ukraine.

Half of the Ukrainian population has fled the country, much of it is destroyed, and tragically hundreds of thousands of people have been killed or maimed.

How would you even calculate the cost-benefit for such a mess? This also assumes that the war does not expand or God forbid go nuclear. Is the Ukraine better off today with NATO membership (promised) and the same corrupt government or if we could revert back 14 months were they better off then? Was Ukrainian leadership and corruption that much better than Russian leadership or neutrality?

As an American, what is the interests of my children and how much has this costs them already and in the future? Has it made America safer to rekindle a Cold War with a nuclear superpower that is now re-militarizing? Has this disaster improved our standing in the world and made us stronger?

As you point out, what is our government trying to hide in the Ukraine? Why did so many of our politicians in both “parties” have so much focus on this nation on the borders of Russia (formerly part of Russia)?

I pray everyday that God will spare us from the Ivy-league morons we have appointed to steer our nation. These are the same caliber of people who just decided to make a beer brand more inclusive. You can change the name, but in reality the VP of Bud Lite is in charge of our diplomacy, military, economy, and nation.
