"Ralph was known among his peers for his intellect..."

Yet couldn't discern the address.

My first thought exactly.

115th Street vs 115th Terrace on opposite ends. KC is known for confusing addresses.

It could be the way they name the streets.

Here in Calgary, for example, the city is divided into quadrants, NE, SE, SW, NW. Many avenues and streets are numbered from ‘1st’ up, beginning at a defined ‘centre’ of the city. In addition, many of the ‘communities’ (aka neighborhoods) within the suburbs, will have similar names within that ‘community’. In addition, many of this ‘community’ roads, may be named ‘Road’, ‘Street’, ‘Avenue’, ‘Boulevard’, ‘Circle’, ‘Close’, ‘Rise’, ‘Terrace’, ‘Bay’, etc.

There are likely plenty of cities that follow similar naming conventions, so it is easy to make a mistake in such neighborhoods, if you don’tknow it well.
