The kid obviously made a mistake. But he was just a kid...and kids make mistakes. As I said I'm very willing to assume that he didn't mean any harm. As for the shooter...does he have a bad reputation? Is he known as a hothead? Is it a bad neighborhood? Does the shooter have any kind of neuropsychiatric issues...issues that aren't uncommon in men in their 80s?

Yes he made a mistake so no fault there. Now does that logic apply to the NM cops in thie past week shooting responding to the wrong address? If a genius kid as this one is described, and multiple educated officers all do not have that capability then who is at fault? The engineers designing streets? The pu lic works folks in charge of putting out street name signs and assigning house numbers? Definitely a hole in the logic there somewhere.
