They are more concerned with keeping us separated and pigeonholed into groups that will not come together against the Oligarchy that currently runs the country. They do not want the entire country to devolve in to anarchy. They could not control it nor could they confiscate all the guns. Mob violence is restricted to the cities because the police and citizens are easier to manage. They want to create the appearance of chaos but in truth the majority pf the country is living normal lives. The mob will not invade areas where police and citizens will return the fire and protect private property. For those looting and burning it is all fun and games until the day they run into a hail storm of bullets. Then it will end.

If I remember correctly protesters heading to a city in Idaho to protest. The were met by armed citizens at every corner and decide to go home.

There were rumors of antifa arriving in many western towns. They were often unfounded, essentially feints, but served to flush out an armed response, which was duly noted as “hate” by antifa organizers. Knee-jerk reactions are what they want, at this point.
