That is what Illinois does. The last time I looked, the state added a $100 to the registration fee for EVs. I am not sure if the Feds get a portion of that.

Cannot yell at people who built parking garages in past years-—

I looked up the history of a 5 level parking deck I use to park in. After about 45 years of use the university started to cut back on parking permits and public parking. The top deck only had minimal use when I retired 10 years ago. They can get a few more years of use, but it is going to have be torn down in the near future. Road salt is a major contributing factor according to a report I read.

I will guess NYC doesn’t see too many of these types seeking a parking garage - would have to charge them for 2 spaces if the height clearance is not a problem.
