This isn’t about Cleopatra, but a new Amazon Prime movie i watched the other day.
“A Wing And A Prayer” — really good movie with Dennis Quaid. A true story. A family flying in a small private plane when the pilot had a heart attack and died. Dad had to land it. A very angst-ridden movie. The heroes were air traffic controllers, especially two of them.
At the end of the movie they showed the movie characters’ pictures next to the pics of the real people involved. The two BLACK heroes in the movie were ... WHITE.
I lived in Egypt 3 years. Egyptians generally look down on darker skinned people, such as Nubians, from the south. Delta dwellers are generally lighter skinned reflecting greek and roman influence.

I actually saw a discussion online somewhere about a year or more ago where a black woman was arguing Cleopatra was black. She was shocked to find out Cleopatra was Greek and not dark skinned.
