South Florida is facing gas shortages across the region after it was pummeled with severe storms last week that brought historic rainfall and widespread flooding.
About 55 percent of gas stations in Miami and Fort Lauderdale are without fuel as of Thursday morning, according to GasBuddy’s Southeast Florida Live Gas Station Outage Tracker. Another about 34 percent of gas stations are also without fuel in West Palm Beach as demand for gasoline increased after the storms.
Intense storms dropped a historic range of 15 inches to 26 inches of rain in the Fort Lauderdale region last week, with much of the rain falling on Wednesday. The Fort Lauderdale airport closed for nearly two days due to flooding from the rain, and schools closed after the storms.

(Major Sarcasm)
Walking catfish season....
Not that bad, but it costs $3.75/gal.
Trumps fault. Got it.
I think this was supposed to be a sarcastic comment.
There is sarcasm and joking on Free Republic sometimes.
This article must be misleading. I read on FR all the time that gas cars are great when storms hit Florida. /sarc
If it makes you feel any better, it was 3.74 here yesterday in relatively dry PA, but then again, our gas taxes are pretty high.
It’s 3.75 gallon here in Tampa area too. Went from 3.59 to 3.75 overnight
“Trump would have solved it in 24 hours!!!”
He already had. The Keystone Pipeline was due to be operational by now (early 2023 operational) and was dedicated to supporting US shortages. It was Trump in March 24, 2017, who signed a presidential permit to allow TransCanada to build the Keystone XL pipeline. It was Biden that revoked it his first day in office.

That’s what you get for cutting off offshore drilling
The so called shortage is due to panic buying, which is strongly encouraged by the media for ratings.
EVERYONE PANIC! And they do.
Broward here. Most gas stations are empty. If it wasn’t for the GasBuddy app I wouldn’t have gas. Took both cars to fill up this am at 6:45 at the only station that had gas.
An electric car would be handy in addition to a gas car. Redundancy is good. It sucks not being able to get gas.
This is a local distribution problem. Need the power back on, and equipment repaired. And where is RDS? Out of the state trolling for campaign $$$.
Because when a hurricane knocks the power out for 2 weeks, an EV is just the ticket.
Apparently, a port in the area that normally receives gasoline products is out of commission, according to Newsmax.
Not that a gas car would do much better, but we’d best be prepared to walk everywhere for a while in either case.
