Former Minnesota police officer Kim Potter, who accidentally killed Daunte Wright when she mistook her firearm for a stun gun during a traffic stop, is set to be released from prison Monday, records show.

Potter, 50, has served 16 months at the Shakopee Minnesota Correctional Facility and will serve another eight months on supervised release.

A shocking new booking photo shows the former Brooklyn Center police officer's deterioration behind bars.

The before and after pictures of Ms. Potter show the amount of years she has aged in just 16 months.

Yes, she made a terrible mistake which I blame on lack of repeated and constant firearms training. Too many LEO's seldom pull their gun from their holster so are not comfortable with the feel of it in their hand. They have no instinct and muscle memory which kicks in during times of stress.

With that being said, if you or I accidentally shot someone while thinking we were pulling a taser or even a flashlight, we would be spending life in prison. With only serving 16 months, she got off light.

Ms. Potter committed a terrible ACCIDENT. She reacted in an effort to protect herself. She was in a dangerous situation.

The capitol cop, Michael Lewis, killed Ashli Babbitt in cold blood. He was never threatened at all. His life was never in danger. He has suffered no accountability to date. He is a member in good standing of the DC SWAMP. The leftist have polluted our justice system.

Now they have to let Derek Chauvin out of jail for killing that criminal George Floyd who couldn’t breathe because he was dying from fentanyl.

“Ms. Potter committed a terrible ACCIDENT. She reacted in an effort to protect herself. She was in a dangerous situation.”

She was in a dangerous situation, but she should have practiced enough with both weapons to the point she knew which was which so that her hand was aware of which weapon it was holding. Muscle memory with firearms is a thing and I realize I do not practice target shooting enough. However, that shouldn’t be an excuse for cops.

I think about the cop in Minnesota who killed a woman who had called because she thought there was an intruder behind her house. The cop shot from the police car passenger’s seat and killed her. He never should have been on the force, or either before being issued a firearm, should have had to prove he was proficient in its handling and knew when it was necessary to unholster his gun. Mistakes happen and most are due to a lack of training, practice, and proficiency.

No vertebrate could make such a mistake, Her excuse was a bogus lie. She’s a murderer but as a cop, she gets a break. If I did that I’d never see the light of day.

According to the use of force expert testifying for the defense, she had the right to use lethal force, in this case.

He had shot 2 other black teens, in the head and was going to be charged.

He had a warrant for armed robbery.

I hate these type of stories, portraying the "victim" as an angel, when he was, actually, a POS.

White people are assumed guilty until proven innocent, and they can almost never prove they’re innocent.

I live in Shakopee, MN and knew one of the women’s prison nurses. He insinuated that both the food and medical care at the prison were pretty bad.

Power trip, to be part of the “elite” who then have laws and rules not apply to them.

I believe he was put up in the executive suite at Joint Base Andrews for two months and awarded a medal by Brandon himself as well.
