Former President Donald Trump has enjoyed a 27-point swing his way away from Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) since December, according to a hypothetical head-to-head poll.

The Wall Street Journal commissioned poll – jointly conducted by Fabrizio, Lee, & Associates and Impact Research – finds that 51 percent of Republican primary voters support Trump in a hypothetical head-to-head race with DeSantis. The governor is backed by 38 percent of respondents, marking a seismic change since late last year.

2024 National Republican Primary:

Trump 48% (+24)
DeSantis 24%
Haley 5%
T. Scott 3%
Ramaswamy 2%
Pence 1%
Youngkin 1%
Sununu 1%
Pompeo 1%
Noem 1%
Christie 0%
Hutchinson 0%
.
Head-2-Head:
Trump 51% (+13 since 12/7)
DeSantis 38% (-14)

In a December Fabrizio, Lee, & Associates poll, their positions were inverted, with DeSantis at 52 percent and Trump at 38 percent. The current poll mirrors a number of other national polls that show Trump surging over recent months.

Trump leads the pack in a larger primary field, as 48 percent of respondents say they would vote for him. Another 24 percent back DeSantis, making him Trump’s clear-cut top potential competitor, though he has not yet announced a White House bid.

No other candidate secured double-digit support. Five percent of voters back Former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC), three percent back Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), and two percent would vote for businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.

Former Vice President Mike Pence, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Govs. Kristi Noem (R-SD), Chris Sununu (R-NH), and Glen Youngkin each hold one percent of support. Former Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR), who announced his candidacy last week, failed to put a point on the board.

I DO NOT CARE ABOUT PRIMARY POLLS.

They do not matter. It bothers me that Trump feels like he has to denigrate DeSantis, who has done a huge amount of good for this country.

Polls are disinformation, manipulation, and propaganda. Show me an honest poll that shows Trump or Desantis wiping the floor with any Democrat. That’s all I care about.

In The Art of War, Sun Tzu says,

“Every battle is won before it is ever fought.”

This is unfolding before your eyes.

Name me one thing your saint Desantis has done for the citizens of Missouri…. Geez…. how rich it is to read ‘trans’ republicans denigrate President Trump day in and day out.. and the lie calling Trump supporters ‘cultist’…
At the same time treating the shadow candidate like the second coming. Talk about narcissistic ego maniacs..

FR has one trans who post lies against President Trump day in and day out.. course this ‘trans’ quotes the scripture like the devil did to Christ..

I’ve always liked RdS but with the type people he’s been seen hanging out with and taking money from, who can doubt that there would be a learning curve in dealing with the DC Uniparty (R). We simply do not have the luxury of that dead time in ‘25 and ‘26. Trump’s own first administration lessons cost us dearly. Trump will hit the ground running in the battle against the DS. This is one of the reasons I prefer DJT.

Why would you think a Florida governor could do anything for Missouri’s citizens other than by being an example of how to or how not to govern a state?

His state gives me a two-month taste of freedom and delightful weather every winter.

Something I’m able to experience very little of in Minnesota.

If you had read the words of the person I responded to…you would be asking WHAT ‘nationally’ has Saint Desantis done! I asked specifically about my state..cause I have missed his miracles..

I am seriously trying to figure out why these ‘trans’ Republicans believe Saint Desantis walks on water.

Polls are disinformation, manipulation, and propaganda.

That's how they work. That's how they influence people. Welcome to the world of electioneering.

It's politics are its best, or at its worst, depending on your point of view.

Election campaigns, whether during primaries or general, are about demonizing and making your opposition look bad, and Trump's tactics worked for him in 2015, and actually in 2020.

All the polling, talk, and speculation is a waste of time until Voter Integrity is restored.

Whether it’s about your state or nationally, what I posted still applies. He’s a governor of a state and has no authority to do anything for any other state or for anyone anywhere other than in the state he’s the executive of. Right now, Trump is similarly restricted, even more so, since he only has authority over his business enterprise, and I don’t fault either man for the limitations they currently have when it comes to directly affecting what’s happening nationally.

“Show me an honest poll that shows Trump or Desantis wiping the floor with any Democrat. That’s all I care about.”

would you accept an “honest” poll that showed romney, hutchinson, christie, or haley wiping the floor with any democrat? would that be all it would take for you to vote for one of those?

You’re asking me if I would vote for a Trojan Horse candidate who would destroy the country in a more Deep State, clandestine manner? Is that what you’re asking me?

Gavin Newsome would be a better target as he will be Biden’s VP.
