When I’m afield in bear country I carry bear spray AND a large caliber revolver.
Happiness is a warm can of bear spray, and a warm gun.

Kristof’s suggestion was couched in an op-ed written to persuade readers that having a gun in their home actually makes them less safe.

Yes, and it’s very persuasive reasoning so I’m sure there’s going to be a huge rush to buy bear spray! Freaking moron!

Think of the decontamination that would have to happen afterwards. Imagine what the bill from ServPro might look like.

Kristof is an idiot. Bear spray in an enclosed space? Does he have any pets, kids, or a wife? Because they're going to just love being trapped in a room with a violent thug and air that they can't breathe. He, being an expert warrior himself, is not subject to those strictures as he has no need to inhale, but lesser beings are going to think it a pretty lousy deal.
Shoot them, dumbass. Save the chemical warfare for someone who knows how to use it.

Wasp spray and a lighter. Loads of fun.

New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof ...
This useless moron doesn’t live in a border state.
This useless moron has no clue how savage a home intruder can be.
This useless moron has never had to defend his life from an attacker.
All theory, no experience. Just a huge pile of BS.

Bear spray is weaker than spray for defense against human criminals, because bears have more sensitive mucus membranes (like dogs). Brought to us by the animal worshipers. Then they lie about how strong it is in marketing.

Kristof’s remarks re bear spray just prove that a diploma from Harvard is really not a “diploma” anymore it’s more like a “certificate” and it certifies your retardation.

Real smart to hose someone dawn in a confined area with bear spray because it will never linger or blow back on you.
Almost like the night nearly ever officer in town decided to stand in a circle and pepper spray a perp. I don’t think they say the humor that I did.

Real smart to hose someone dawn in a confined area with bear spray because it will never linger or blow back on you. It will get you a free ride to the pokey when the Police get involved. Years ago I watched two segments of Cops where men had sprayed someone and them called the Police. When they got to where the man sat who was sprayed, each Cop said to the man who done the spraying, "Turn around and place your hands behind your back. You are under arrest." They did not do anything to the guys that were sprayed.
