Am I wrong in thinking that states that are power importers and also deregulated are the ones that will be first to be hit hard?

Deregulated plants are under EPA jurisdiction too, so they will be hit just as hard (or harder). States that rely on generally imported generation will probably be hit harder because states that generally export will have to shut down fossil fuel plants that were probably providing the energy for other states.

Thanks, Nixon, for the EPA. No one in power ever seems to understand the basic premise of giving the government more power…. They will eventually abuse it, and it will be a stick to hit people with in ways never intended or thought of when the power was granted. RICO is another example… used to prosecute anti abortion protesters. No one who voted for RICO had an inkling it would be used in that manner.
