Any company that still does anything in China that can be done elsewhere is both playing with fire and deserves what it gets. Too bad it is going to be a bit hard on the employees.

Never go to Communist China.

Do not do business with them.

Do not buy goods from them.

Do not sell to them.

Do not hire their citizens.

Do not work for their companies.

Taiwan’s governemt is the legitimate government over all China.

Any company that does business in China should expect their employees to be held hostage at some point.

The message to US companies should be “Get out of China”.

The message to the US government should be “turn the screws a notch tighter in slowly choking off imports from China” (ie bump those tariffs from 10% up to 15% to 20%).

side note: Yes I want to drive it to 0 too, but if we suddenly cut off all trade with China it will do a lot of harm to us. We have to disengage step by step and give companies time to set up alternative sources of supply in other countries.
