Just eliminate the debt ceiling and add $10 trillion or $20 trillion to the debt every year. We can all live large. Nothing can go wrong because it is Modern Monetary Theory. Those BRICS country currencies on the rise? Nothing to see there. The dollar will always reign supreme.

It’s all piss-poor Washington DC insider games and theater. They are spending the nation into oblivion and will continue to do so. Trimming a little bit here and there from spending is meaningless.

If they were serious about saving the nation, they would be discussing ways to cut the federal government by 50% this year, 50% next year, and 50% the year after that.

"Trimming a little bit here and there from spending is meaningless."

That's exactly right, and therefore any GOP wannabe who genuflects to national debt -- even so much as a passing talking point -- is grabbing the third rail of politics in a completely unforced error. It's a non-starter in a national election.

And ... cue the Meatball!

"For Ron DeSantis, fixing the national debt is a cornerstone of his U.S. Senate campaign.

The North Florida Republican has even gone so far as to decline his congressional pension after taking office.

Nevertheless, boasting a reputation as a “leading fiscal conservative in the House,” DeSantis doesn’t quite walk the same walk in his own campaign. As he frequently rails against the national debt, comparing a recent budget deal to “giving a shopaholic an unlimited credit card,” the congressman seems perfectly fine carrying a boatload of debt on his own."
