Every bureaucrat seeks to increase their own power as much as possible, at the expense of all else, especially other bureaucrats.

This is no different than an AI program eventually seeking to rule the world...............

Amen to that.

Then Miller

Actually the court got Miller pretty much right. But pretty much every lower court that cited Miller claimed it said the opposite of what it actually said.

It could be argued that what Miller needs is better clarification rather than being tossed out whole.  As you know, by the time the case got to SCOTUS, Miller himself had gone on the lam, and only the government's case was heard.  But what the RKBA folks have long argued is that the gist of the court's finding (which subsequent courts have ignored) is that a sawed-off  shotgun does not have a reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well-regulated militia, so the Second Amendment doesn't come into play.  Which, logically can only mean that militarily useful arms are in fact, specifically the topic of the 2nd amendment, and are protected.  This flies in the face of the current efforts to ban "assault weapons" because, the gun-grabbers claim, these are "weapons of war".  Miller, properly interpreted, could stand the past 50 years of unconstitutional gun control regulation on its head.

A guy can dream, can't he?

The alphabet agencies have been given far too much power over the past 50 years. It’s time to rein in their power.

Chevron gave authority to the federal agencies.

It also encouraged congress to write ambiguous “as the Secretary may direct” sorts of laws to deflect responsibility.

The rats are kicking themselves for not packing scotus when they had the chance.

I suspect the justices have had it with overt Leftist threats of lawfare (Clarence Thomas) and assassination.

"The regulation requires herring fishing boats to allow a federal observer aboard to oversee operations and compensate them for their time."

Didn't we fight a war once about quartering soldiers in peoples houses?

well....someone is full of themselves today...

if being intelligent means being full of ones self, then you're correct.

BTW: I had to go look up a few things posted today on this very thread and educate myself, so I speak from a position of authority on this one.

It is about time. SCOTUS is going to toss the Chevron doctrine on the ash heap of history.

Put the responsibility for enacting laws back in the hands of Congress. This could be the beginning of the end of the administrative state.

States can now start up with reopepening coal mine, build pipelines, and drilling oil and gas wells without having to get EPA approval.
