I disagree with people here who believe we should surrender the West Coast.
1) Our ancestors fought and died to possess that land for the American nation. It belongs to all of us.
2) The harbors at San Diego, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle are vital military assets. Within 6 months of Calexit, the PLAN will be homeported there.
3) Lots of Americans live there now under oppression. We promised to defend their States against invasion and rebellion. It’s time to deliver on the promise.

Rent the West Coast cities to China for ten years.

I’m from Oregon. We have surrendered the West Coast already. That said:
Jefferson bought the land from France after France stole it from Spain after Britain had extinguished France’s original claim, and eventually Britain compromised. No fighting for that land.
Portland isn’t a vital military asset—as a harbor it isn’t even the best in the state (Coos Bay is far superior) but it had much better inland connections because one is abel to take ships past the Coast Range via the Columbia.
It’s 35+ years too late to deliver on the promise. Mostly what we needed to be defended against were Yankees and their descendants who decided to leave California after they had wrecked that state.
