Officials had been searching for Francisco Oropesa, 38, since Friday night when he allegedly shot his neighbors in Cleveland, Texas, after one asked him to stop firing rounds in his yard.
A person believed to be the man accused of killing five of his neighbors with an AR-15 rifle in their Texas home was apprehended by law enforcement agents Tuesday, an official said.
A person believed to be Francisco Oropesa, 38, was arrested in the city of Cut and Shoot, Texas, San Jacinto County District Attorney Todd Dillon said.
Authorities are awaiting fingerprints to confirm the person arrested is Oropesa, Dillon said. He has been taken to the Montgomery County Jail and is charged with first-degree murder, he said.
The FBI said it was planning a news conference Tuesday evening about the case.
If confirmed to be Oropesa, the arrest brings an end to the sprawling search that involved more than 250 law enforcement officers, the FBI and a reward of $80,000 for information.

The overuse of passive voice in this article is a little weird. “Believed to be”? By who? Just say something like “police sources state . . . .”

So what? They won’t do to him what needs to be done. If he’ll agree to transition to a woman, probably give him early release.

North of Houston, I figured he’d run for the border.

Take him out behind the police station and shoot him.
I’m half serious...

Cut and Shoot is no city. It was a village, now part of Houston suburbia east of Conroe.
Around Houston, there are 10 million people looking just like this guy, illegal aliens. Seriously.

‘after one asked him to stop firing rounds in his yard’
Weren’t they from Honduras? Maybe they owed money.

He will be put down in prison. Even criminals have a code of conduct. Shooting nine year olds in the back dont play well in a cell.

Here's Wiki on the place name:
According to one local legend, Cut and Shoot was named after a 1912 community confrontation that almost led to violence. According to differing versions of the story, the dispute was over:[6]
The design of a new steeple for the town's only church,
The issue of who should be allowed to preach there,
The conflicting land claims among church members.
Whatever the circumstances were, a small boy at the scene reportedly said he was scared and declared, "I'm going to cut around the corner and shoot through the bushes in a minute!" This statement apparently stayed in the residents' minds and was eventually adopted as the town's name.[7] "Cut and Shoot" has frequently been noted on lists of unusual place names.[8][9]

Just wish President Polk after winning the Mexican-American War would have had the foresight to construct a wall right then and there, and maybe should have taken the Baja Peninsula and the strip of land immediate south of present-day AZ and NM too. Would have solved a ton of problems.

I think they were trying to emphasize that a positive ID hadn’t been made yet...
