TALLAHASSEE — As he opened the 2023 legislative session nearly two months ago, Gov. Ron DeSantis targeted migrants entering the country illegally.
“We must further strengthen our laws against illegal immigration by enhancing employment verification, increasing penalties for human smuggling and further disincentivizing illegal migration to the state of Florida,” DeSantis said March 7 during his State of the State address.
On Tuesday, with just days left in the session, Republican lawmakers carried out DeSantis’ wishes.
The House gave final approval to a controversial bill (SB 1718) that includes stepping up requirements on businesses to check the immigration status of workers, cracking down on people who bring migrants who enter the country illegally into Florida and collecting data about whether hospital patients are in the country legally.
The bill drew intense, often-personal debate that included lawmakers talking about their families moving to the United States and House sponsor Kiyan Michael describing the day her son Brandon was killed in a car accident caused by a migrant who was not in the country legally.
“Heaven has borders,” Michael, R-Jacksonville, said as she finished speaking to the House. “Hell has none.”

This bill is a good start but any bills like this should include language that allows access to taxpayer funded services (welfare, EBT, etc) by USA citizens only. If there are no freebies available, they will not come. Of course passing such laws will result in a increase in crime for a short while as the illegals struggle to feed themselves. But in an open-carry state where even petty theft carries a possible death sentence, the risk/reward ratio will cause the relocation of the illegals to safer places ... like NYC.

2020 is history. Trump/Romney blew it and was not ready for legal ballot harvesting and illegal vote dumps.
In 2022, they did it again.
Most of us are looking for someone who can fight the fraud and has a plan.....someone who reformed election laws and cracked down on fraud.
Trump lost 2020. It doesn't matter that he lost by a combination of arrogance, cheapness and voting shenanigans. He is not POTUS and was unable to make a coherent case that any court would take.

I'll take the guy who doesn't see it necessary to insult everyone and anyone but gets the job done over a whining, aging narcissist who makes excuse after excuse and blames everyone else for his own poor choices.
Finally, Trump signed the CARES Act that funded the corruption of our election system and those groups who harvested ballots.
