Reminds me of an old Mark Twain joke from his library of Wit and Humor.
A ship at sea is caught in a hurricane!
The sailors as the captain to “Pray for us captain! Pray for us!”
The Captain says “I ain’t been in a church in forty years! I don’t know how to pray!”
Sailors: “WELL DO SOMETHING RELIGIOUS! ‘For God’s sake, do something’”
So the Captain took up a collection!
