Feinstein Doesn’t Recall Being Absent From The Senate. She Was Gone For 10 Weeks.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) appeared to have no recollection of her recent — and lengthy — absence from Washington, D.C., during a recent interview, scolding a reporter who mentioned her time away and claiming that she had been “here, voting.”

Feinstein, 89, was absent from the Senate for nearly three months while she recovered from a bout with the shingles virus — and since her return, she has been using a wheelchair and has kept a more limited schedule than she did prior to her absence.

She had just voted against a measure that would have nullified some D.C. criminal justice reforms and was nearing the elevator in her wheelchair when a reporter approached her, according to a report published Tuesday by the Los Angeles Times.

“Aren’t you an eager one?” Feinstein greeted the reporter.

The retiring senator — who announced earlier this year that she would not seek reelection in 2024 — mentioned a problem with one of her legs, but said that she had been feeling better. But when the reporter asked about her recent return to the Senate and whether her colleagues had offered much in the way of well-wishes, the interview took a turn.

“What have I heard about what?” Feinstein asked.

“About your return,” the reporter prompted.

“I haven’t been gone. You should … I haven’t been gone. I’ve been working,” Feinstein insisted.

You can see the strings, or the puppeteer, but you can see the marionettes in full view.

Why are they holding onto her? It’s not like her replacement will ever vote against the demons. I don’t get it.

This, Biden, Fetterman, AOC, Harris. Really? This is their best and brightest? Somehow these are the ones chosen to lead us? What a circus we have become.

Lol. Whenever some pundit or politician (same thing), trots out “Americans deserve better” I think, actually, no, we don’t.

Me either. Maybe a struggle between 2 factions who want their stalinist type appointed.

Well, in the House and Senate you get committee appointments based on seniority. Feinstein is on the Judiciary, Intelligence and Appropriations committees, some of the most powerful committees. So maybe they are keeping her around for a reliable vote on those committees. Any freshman replacement would not likely get those assignments.

Probably this is a sensitive subject for people to talk about, and nobody wants to go to her and tell her that she should resign.

Replacement will be elected in November 2024 as she’s already announced she’s not running for re-election.

So she’s just running out the clock on her Senate career and nobody wants to tell her to leave now.

For the majority of congress the “professional” staffers do about 95% of the actual work. They write the bills behind the scenes, allocate funding, and make the quid pro quo trades that are the lifeblood of the swamp (and why it is so wealthy).

For this reason, many who are intimately familiar with the workings of congress understand where the real power lies and it is NOT with the representatives.
