A Utah doctor killed his teenage son and then himself in a shocking murder-suicide that has rattled their local community this week. The bodies of Parth Gandhi, 49, and his son, 16, were found on Saturday morning at the offices of Psychedelic Therapy and Research in Salt Lake City, KSLTV reported.
Gandhi worked at the offices as a neuropsychologist and clinic director with a “focus on psychedelics,” the outlet said.

It is also not yet known if psychedelic drugs or other substances were present in Gandhi’s body or that of his son, who has not been named due to his age. The outlet noted that Gandhi mentioned remedies for depression, anxiety, and substance abuse on social media.

Beef?

When this happened in 2018 (didn’t prophesy today’s exact details, of course) on Law and Order SVU Season 21, Episode 8 the arrogant leader of the psychedelic therapy center gave drugs that ruined one woman’s life and endangered others. Creepy professor was a lot like many I have known in real life.

Since the experimental 1950s and 1960s there have been unfortunate victims of LSD and other drugs who never came back to normal. Institutionalized unless they killed themselves.
One type has a technical name and is listed in DSM5:
“Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD), by contrast, is a persistent, pervasive, long-term, dysphoric and distressing condition. It may be irreversible or persist for months or years. Its effects are clearly non-benign and accompanied by a sense of dysphoria.”
