Iger wants to express how badly DeSantis hurt Disney, and closing the Star Wars hotel is his first shot. It’s a phony outrage and a phony business move. The hotel will be return as a regular hotel or some other theme hotel, but only after the lawsuit/dispute against Florida/DeSantis is resolved.
If Disney wants to cut off it’s nose to spite its face, they are welcome to it!
Move the entire operation to California and do Trans Day every day there!
iger will never be able to prove that, so the premise is not valid. In fact, DeSantis’ attorneys are in a better position to argue that disney’s (self-inflicted) woke damage has driven its customers away.
The ‘space taj mahal’ had to have been a money-losing operation for some time, unrelated to DeSantis.
The Star Wars hotel is expensive and not worth the money, so it was doomed to close anyway. They are using DeSantis as an excuse, just like the so-called 1 billion they claimed they were going to spend.
That billion dollar move was already going to be cancelled due to continuing losses at Disney for the foreseeable future. They are just using DeSantis as an excuse for their poor business practices.
