That’s not a common high school field trip.
Back in the 70s in the Midwest it was not uncommon. We had a psychology/sociology teacher that sponsored interesting trips and the school board was OK with it. Other trips included a drug counseling center, food stamp program office and the local election board.
The drug counseling center became a methadone clinic and the mental institution closed its doors in 1985.
