Control power is pretty important. Today's Siemens and RS Logix require 24VDC, 120VAC, and 480V 3 phase, to run the controls of a windmill or any other such device. By code you can't run the control voltage transformer legs off of the windmill or any other such devices, to operate the controls or safety circuits of the same.

So you’re saying that the device that generates power needs a separate power supply to operate the controls for the power generating device?
