Everything about this guy just screams: managed, manicured phony.
1. We don't need another Ivy League lawyer in Washington.
2. We don't need another career politician who has never worked outside government in the White House.
3. In relative terms, DeSantis is flat broke. He will do whatever his political handlers and financial backers tell him to do. We don't need a managed, manicured tool in the White House.
4. RDS takes days or weeks to say things that Donald Trump says on the spur of the moment because he believes it so firmly that it comes naturally to him. We don't need another hapless, poll-testing phony in the White House.
5. Donald Trump has all the right enemies.

DeSantis CAN NOT win the general, far to many people will not go to the polls without Trump on the ticket!! The real question is what sort of Republican voters like the mud that Trump slings? Apparently there are quite a few who do.
You think mud-slinging is the most important basis on which to judge a candidate? Mud-slinging is only a tactic. Those of us who support Trump do so because of his policies, his effectiveness, and the fact that he’s not owned. We like his mud-slinging only to the extent that it achieves a purpose and demonstrates his willingness to do what’s necessary to succeed.
For all those here on Free Republic who have been lamenting Trump’s attacks on DeSantis these past few months, because they claim it will only serve to split the Republican party, what are your thoughts now, on the eve of DeSantis’s announcement?
Are we going to hear from you how divisive it is for DeSantis to be challenging Trump, a man whose anti-globalist, MAGA world view he claims to share? When this contest becomes increasingly nasty, will you ask DeSantis why he felt it necessary to enter a race that already had a MAGA candidate, rather than endorsing that candidate?

This is simply a lie. Trump never criticized the original legislation that had prompted Disney’s criticism. He DID criticize DeSantis’s response to Disney’s comments, as short sided and doomed to failure - in particular, his fight with Disney over the control of the Reedy Creek Improvement District.

Trump’s policy was to develop a vaccine as an option to those who chose to use it. He never supported mandates, and has been skeptical of childhood vaccination for years, going back to the 2016 primary and earlier.
As with virtually all vaccines and medications, there are some who had adverse reactions to the COVID vaccines - even death in some instances. But the vaccines also lowered the COVID mortality rate for those who took them - saving lives.

Every Covid policy during Trump's first term was set by a state governor---- including the seven Republican governors who kept their states open and ignored Fauci; and including Gov. DeSantis who followed Fauci as one follows Holy Scripture.
Ronny locked down his state, closed his schools and businesses, implemented mandatory quarantines for travelers from states with high infection rates --- using the police to enforce this order. Ronny followed every Fauci edict on masks, social distancing, testing, vaccines (assuring Floridians if they were vaccinated they would not get Covid) into 2022.
When Ronny reopened his state, he proudly did so in total compliance with Fauci's rules, going so far as telling the police to close businesses not in compliance
And it's all on tape.
Unlike Trump, DeSantis has been fighting and winning at advancing conservatism.
Trump fights for Disney, Bud Light, Big Pharma, and gay parties at Mar-A-Lago when he's not blaming conservatives for losing in the midterms.
