The M1911 shoots better than any other pistol I’ve handled.
But it’s primitive.
I like the older Sigs, HKs and Berettas with SA/DA and Decock lever.
there is something about the beauty of that primitivity...ah the venerable M1911A1. Truly a pistol for all occasions.
Once I started with the G21, and Glocks in general, my 1911 days were done.
Most 1911s are nice and have good triggers - but there is no comparison as far as capability and reliability.
OHPatriot, loved your post…:)
I don’t own a 911A1, but I have always appreciated the old school analog aspect, and I don’t think I’m alone on this… I think the same kind of person who would want to own that kind of firearm might also be more strongly inclined to own a class of car with a mechanically, aspirated engine without electronic ignition. Or an old analog watch that requires daily winding.
That kind of thing.
They are nice, aren't they?
Visiting a friend of mine, nominally a liberal, once brought out his grandfather’s 1911A1, a 1943 Union Switch & Signal. It was in glorious condition in original holster, maybe 17 atoms of rust on it from non-use. Just breathtaking.
“But it’s primitive.”
So is a spear and in the hands of a skilled user it will still kill you deader than dog ****.
