Thank you, JayGalt, for providing the full explanation of the risks and responsibilities Walt Disney World took on in building and powering the Orlando region.
Large corporations are often guilty of bleeding local taxpayers dry with special deals approved by State legislators. But this case seems likes a reasonable contract and the jobs brought to Florida are self-evident considering the wetlands jungle Orlando once was.
I’ve traveled to Orlando several times for business conventions and have walked through beautiful areas off the beaten where birds and other wildlife flourish, so Disney has also fulfilled the preservation side of this contract.
Once again, everything granted to Disney was at the pleasure of the people and their representatives.
Disney is not entitled to it, Disney does not have the right to it, taking it away is not targeting them. Any more than me kicking an unruly guest out of my house is targeted retribution. No, it withdrawing of a special privilege previously granted on the presumption of positive and mutually beneficial relationship. When that behavior is no longer conducive to a positive relationship, the special privilege’s is withdrawn.
Had Florida acted in a way that treated Disney worse than other business in Florida, including their competitions such as Universal Studios, there would be an argument of unequal treatment. Otherwise no such case exists.
She a dubious character and so are her claims. Kraken revisited. I am sorry it is not obvious to you: https://www.offthepress.com/maricopa-county-asks-for-sanctions-against-kari-lake-for-contesting-election/
