Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis moved into a virtual dead heat with former President Donald Trump in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination in Florida, according to a new Victory Insights survey.
DeSantis earned 38.2% support and Trump earned 38%, with a 3.9% margin of error, in the Victory Insights poll. No other GOP candidate received more than 3.1%.
A total of 12% likely GOP voters said they were undecided, and 3.5% said they chose someone other than the candidates presented.
Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., (3.1%), former Vice President Mike Pence (2.5%), former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley (2.5%), and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy (0.1%) also received support.
In a suggested head-to-head race between DeSantis and Trump, the governor (40.2%) leads Trump (39%) with the difference again falling within the error margin. A total of 20.8% were undecided.

The very subject of polls, is cause for a lot of discussion here recently.
Some Freepers keep posting news stories about how Trump is far ahead in polls for the GOP nomination.
Other Freepers say, how polls are meaningless altogether, or meaningless this far in advance of the primaries.
But the subject of polls sure does stir the pot around here.

Whatever you Ronlims have to tell yourselves to get through a Monday. Florida gave up its Super Tuesday slot years ago, so in 2024, President Trump will have swept the prior 18 primaries before Floridians ever cast a vote.
With President Trump having a statistically insurmountable delegate lead by March 15, 2024, the Meatball will be lucky if his donors are still picking up the phone. Meanwhile...

Former President Donald Trump continues to lead in the polls over other Republican contenders for president in 2024, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
According to a new Echelon Insights poll, in a contest against seven other GOP rivals, Trump garnered 49 percent support with DeSantis following with 19 percent support. In a two-way match-up, Trump received 59 percent support against DeSantis’ 34 percent.
Between the FBI, Twitter and the media, changing election rules mid stream, mailing unsolicited ballots, etc., if there were any justice in the USA, Congress would appoint Trump as the next president.
If Trump does not win the primary, many, like me, will vote for the other guy. That’s how cynical we are.
Thanks for the info. Donald isn’t perfect, but he is known for fighting back, and following up on his campaign promises. I will vote for the man that our enemies have been trying to get rid of these past 7+ years, not an unknown factor like DeSantis, who decided to ditch Florida in the first six months of the second term Floridians gave him. He’s done a decent job as Governor. That’s why the people of Florida trusted him enough to give him another term. But no one knows how he would govern on a national level. With what is going on in this country, we don’t need a President who will need on-the-job-training. We need someone who has already been tested, taken fire, and consistently performed while under constant fire.
I wasn't going to vote if Trump wasn't on the ballot, but I've decided instead to write him in, that is, if I'm still alive in November 2024. I'd rather do that than sit at home. After that, I won't be voting in any elections. I did my part. The Republicans didn't do theirs, so there is no reason to reward them for their consistent bad behavior.
I’ll accept Trump, DeSantis or Ramaswamy, that’s it.
Ramaswamy is my #2 at this point
