A lot more Japanese would have died if we were forced to invade.

Wow you sure got up early this morning for a breakfast of Moron Flakes.

I bet you love the targeting of residential buildings in Moscow. That will probably get them to surrender, no?

You contractor types are all the same.

You’re a fool if you think Putin is going to use nukes against the west.

He values his own skin, his luxurious lifestyle, and his three grand kids too much to use a nuke.

As far as his saber rattling nuclear threats, those are not directed towards NATO or the west. Those are directed towards China because China is drooling over the chance to get their grubby little hands on all that oil, gas, and the various minerals and ores in Siberia.

As it stands right now, Russia has very little in terms of ground forces that can deal with China if/when China decides that they have some BS mystical right over Siberia just like they think they have the rights over all of the South China Sea, etc.

Up to ten million Japanese would have been killed if we invaded.

The allies would have seen another 1.7 to 4 million killed.

Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson himself stated "We shall in my opinion have to go through an even more bitter finish fight than in Germany. We shall incur the losses incident to such a war and we shall leave the Japanese islands even more thoroughly destroyed than was the case with Germany."

“He values his own skin”

A thin thing to rest the lives of millions of people. First, he is dying (his own skin is providing less value to him everyday) and second everyone claims he is a megalomaniac. If he is deluded into thinking he can win, who knows? His illness can be affecting his brain too.

Hitler would have used the bomb if he had it. Who knows, he might be deluded in failing health to go out in a blaze of glory.

BushCountry: "Ha, ha... The civilian death toll in Japan from Allied bombing was between 330,000 and 900,000 with an additional 112,000 killed from the atomic bombs.
Humanitarian if you are into population control."

If we are only going to count up the death toll, then the Japanese WON WWII by a score of 10 to one.
Japan's total war-deaths were around 3 million.
Total war deaths in countries defending themselves against Japanese aggressions were around 30 million.

True justice would have required Japan to suffer more deaths and destruction than they inflicted on their Asian neighbors, but nobody I know of has ever suggested that should have been our policy of goal.

Bombing Japan was the most humanitarian way possible to end the war, since the alternative was invading Japan, which was estimated to have cost the lives of one million Americans (including my dad!), plus tens of millions of suicidal Japanese. Those two A-bombs in 1945 saved the lives of 100 Japanese for every Japanese life they took.
They were the ultimate in humanitarian warfare available to Americans at that time.

“Up to ten million Japanese would have been killed if we invaded.”

This likely is true, however, with as much as the political class and every facet of government has lied to us (not just recent history) how can we take anything they say on face value? We should question everything.

A large part of United State objective during the war was to kill as many civilians (women, childern, babies, elderly) as possible to force a political outcome. That is no secret, thus the firebombing of tokyo and nuclear bombs. We did not nuke military targets.

PIF on possible Russian false flag: "Its not. These are announced revenge attacks for Russia’s targeting civilians."

So far, the Ukrainian government has not taken credit for those drone attacks on Moscow's elite suburbs.
And the reason is obvious, since those attacks were worthless militarily, and could only serve to help unite Russians in opposition to Ukraine.

Nor has anyone else taken credit that I know of.

It's not even clear if those drones came from Ukraine -- how could they fly hundreds of miles over many Russian air-defense sites without being spotted?
And how many were there, 10? 20? Were any shot down?

Finally, I've heard the words "false flag" from several of the Wise Guys on TV who comment on the war, so I'd say, from what I know now, it's definitely too soon to rule out that possibility.

The 35 drones were targeting a Russian engineering installation nearby, but Russian electronic counter measures jammed or took over the drones’ GPS guidance systems, causing them to crash harmlessly into the nearby Rublyovka district buildings. No explosions.

Russian elite found this funny and many others were laughing at the inept military.

This proves the Russian government does not case about it’s people, and more importantly the only Russian Air Defense systems that work are located around Moscow.

A Chinese "spy" balloon recently took a leisurely tour across the United States without being molested...what does that "prove"?

In reality, its the US supplied Patriot systems being destroyed in Kiev as the hapless Ukies try to provoke an over reaction by Russia that brings NATO into the conflict.

Flying drones into Moscow only validates the premise that Ukraine presents an existential threat to Russia that must be eliminated.

Well played neoclowns...

“We did not nuke military targets.”

Shows how little you know.

“Hiroshima was a city of considerable military importance. It contained the 2nd Army Headquarters, which commanded the defense of all of southern Japan. The city was a communications center, a storage point, and an assembly area for troops.”

“The city of Nagasaki had been one of the largest sea ports in southern Japan and was of great war-time importance because of its many and varied industries, including the production of ordnance, ships, military equipment, and other war materials.”

https://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/mp06.asp

Operation Downfall was the proposed invasion of Japan. The operation was divided into two parts Operation Olympic and Operation Coronet. Operation Olympic was the invasion of southern Japan, while Operation Coronet centered around Tokyo.

And what threat was Ukraine to your beloved Russia back in 2014?

In Feb 2014 the democratically elected president of Ukraine was ousted by fascist extremists after months of western backed violence and intimidation. A deep state controlled puppet government was then installed in Kiev.

Absent constitutional order, the Eastern Ukrainian provinces comprising the Donbas chose self determination over fascism, and when that became untenable due to Kiev regime extremism and violence, they chose to align themselves with Russia and fight back.

Having suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Russian backed Donetsk and Luhansk militias at Debaltsevo in 2015, the Kiev regime along with their deceitful Western allies signed the Minsk agreements (which we now know they never intended to implement), essentially freezing the conflict. For the next eight years the Kiev regime and their western sponsors maintained the pretense of negotiation for Donbas autonomy and reintegration while clandestinely rebuilding their military power (with direct Western support) and strengthening their fortifications along the line of contact.

Having installed a corrupt US President via rigged elections in 2020, the path was clear to provoke a war with Russia. This deep state plan was initially intended to take place four years earlier, but Donald Trump upset the apple cart by beating Hillary Clinton.

Aww how cute that you post the kremlins press release.

Yanukovych was anything but “democratically elected”. He was Putin’s hand picked puppet.

The reason why the people turned against Yanukovych was because he refused to follow through with previous promises to economically align with Europe and other countries. Your boi Putin was opposed to Ukraine having economic ties with the west.

And all the violence was from Ukrainian secret police loyal to Yanukovych, as well as russian Spetsnaz and FSB sent by your boi Putin to prop up Yanukovych.

Yanukovych was anything but “democratically elected”.

100% False....according to the international observers and Western governments, the 2010 presidential election in Ukraine was conducted fairly and the outcome reflected the will of the people involved.

EU endorses Ukraine election result

World Digest: International observers say Ukrainian election was free and fair

Fast forward to 2013...Yanukovich and his Regions party are ready to sign a economic/trade agreement with the Europeans but the EU insisted that the charges against former PM Yulia Tymoshenko be dropped as part of the package...a prime example of Western meddling in the domestic political affairs of Ukraine and something which threatened the elected majority of the Ukrainian parliament.

Along come the Russians with an even better economic package (30% gas subsidies, debt forgiveness, a much larger government loan deal), and the faltering EU plan is cast aside. Yanukovich and his party decide to take the Russian deal, and for a brief period of time at the end of 2013 the international credit agencies even raise Ukraine's sovereign debt rating on the strength of the Russian deal.

Having determined that the upcoming 2014 presidential election was not going to be winnable because the opposition to Yanukovich was divided into three warring camps and the one person who might have united them (Tymoshenko) was serving a prison sentence for corruption, the West decides to overthrow the democratically elected Ukrainian president and install their own puppet government instead.

Extremists from Prevy Sektor are given the green light to foment violence in the streets of Kiev, and the Maidan protest designed to pressure the Yanukovich government to align themselves with the West becomes the Maidan Massacre designed to overthrow the elected government.

Pure Russian propaganda.

The violence was caused by Russian FSB and Spetsnaz who were working with the Ukrainian secret police “Berkut” to try and prop up Yanukovych.

Once Yanukovych fled, those Russian assets moved to the Donbas where they started whipping up anti-ukrainian sentiment.
