Utah Republican Rep. Chris Stewart is reportedly preparing to resign from the lower chamber in relation to his wife's health complications.
His resignation announcement could come as soon as Wednesday morning, according to The Salt Lake Tribune, which cited "multiple sources."
Stewart has served in Congress since first winning election in 2012 and represents the state's 2nd congressional district, which encompasses the state's western border and about half of its southern frontier. The district is solidly Republican.
Stewart's replacement would be decided via special election.

I hope the best for Stewart's wife and do not blame him for putting his family first.
I know. You can't get as much payoff to cave when it doesn't matter whether you cave.
He’s one of the GOOD ONES. Hopefully his replacement will be made of the same stuff.
I think he had been planning on running against Romney for Senate.
“He’s one of the GOOD ONES. Hopefully his replacement will be made of the same stuff.”
He’s not that great. He has a Conservative Review Liberty score of 67%, which is the lowest of the four Utah reps.
At least he didn’t vote for the J6 Committee like two of his colleagues.
Very unusual in the DC swamp. Most swamp creatures worship political power and the perks that go with it above all else.
To his credit, Rep. Stewart may not be your average swamp creature.
Well, he was a strong Trump supporter. I hope his wife’s heath recovers as much as possible.
Prayers to his wife.
