Five hundred cots have been set up and ready for use at a cavernous warehouse at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens as Mayor Eric Adams’ administration awaits federal approval to convert the space into a migrant shelter.
New York City is bursting at the seams to house 45,800 asylum seekers in the 170 emergency sites that have been set up across the five boroughs.
An additional 4,800 asylum seekers arrived at city shelters over the last two weeks alone, said mayoral spokesperson Kate Smart this week.
The beds at JFK’s Building 197 and multiple trailers outfitted with showers and toilets are expected to accommodate up to 1,000 asylum seekers, THE CITY reported Thursday afternoon.

I bet there isn’t mandatory vaccinations on those moving in. Only black and white and old people have mandatory vaccines.
This building, right next to JFK, used to be the Queens (NY) Detention Center, where undeportable illegals used to be kept.
It was very dreardy. People were sometimes kept for over year because their home country could not be determined, or they would refuse to give it. Building 197 is on JFK property, but less then 1000 feet away.
The Queens detention facility was a deterrent to illegal immigration, but Obama shut it down. Now Biden is defacto expanding it.
What approval is needed for a simple cot? They are not using Tempur-Pedic mattresses.

I drove to my hometown this morning. I’ve only been back a couple times since we were all burned out in 2020. Medford Oregon used to be a clean, safe beautiful little city. Now the Greenway or any open spot has a tent and covered in garbage.
I wonder what the “asylum” seekers think when they see miles of homeless in every “sanctuary city”.
I wonder what it will be like when those millions of illegal aliens show up... Everything is free for them here and all drugs are legal.
