For reasons that are completely beyond me, newly-minted 2024 presidential candidate Tim Scott decided to go on The View on Monday. As expected, the end result was checkered at best despite Scott doing his best to get his message out as he battled five left-wing hacks being cheered on by an audience of hardcore Democrats.
I’ll start with one of the few highlights for the South Carolina senator. In it, he makes some good points about the idea that the United States is systemically racist. Naturally, Sonny Hostin was leading the charge in asserting that for the panel.

I just don’t get it. I’ve long been a proponent of starving the mainstream media of ratings, but instead, most Republicans simply refuse to learn the lesson and keep going on these biased shows that only exist to tear them down.

I understand the notion that facing adversarial media makes a candidate look “tough.” But that’s not the reality of the situation. Instead, Republicans usually come away looking weak, having been denied a chance to fully explain their positions. You will never beat the left by agreeing to play by their rules. How many more times do I need to say it? How many more articles must I write? I suspect the answer will be quite a few more.

It’s hard but a skilled communicator could annihilate five liberals with truth and facts. An unskilled one gets annihilated. Scott did okay. I don’t blame him for going on, he’s at 1%.
Scott’s wheelhouse is criticizing Trump and apologizing for Republicans.

Given the complete unwillingness of either the five or the audience to cut him a break, I think he handled himself quite well, came off as respectful without surrendering any of his positions—including refusing to take the anti-DeSantis bait.
My impression is that he is trying to be a black Reagan; the only reason he got anything remotely resembling a fair shake on the show is his color, and you take whatever advantage you can get and make the best use of it. He doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in Lake Buena Vista of become POTUS #47, but if he runs a good campaign he will acquit himself well and could well have a better chance in the future.
They asked governor DeSantis to come on pretty recently and he flatly refused knowing this very thing would happen.
Scott apparently not knowing better put his political naiveté on full display.

Question: What is the difference between the ladies on The View and the presidential debate moderators?
Answer: There is no difference. They’re all left-wing extremists.
Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, Gavin Newsome...would never subject themselves to conservative talk shows or conservative moderators.
Left-wing audiences are pandered to while right-wing audiences are neglected.
Notice the spending as the answer. “He” took HBCU funding to the highest levels ever. We have a plague of kids with degrees that can’t think and lack critical thinking skills. The quality of Edu isn’t discussed as long as the scans run by the institutions raking it in.
What can Tim do for you? Spend other people’s money.

It’s probably good practice for handling hecklers and woke journalists. Fun, no. Minds changed? None. But if it makes Mr. Scott tougher, more resilient, ok.
It’s a disgrace that ABC fired Bob Grant in 1996, but has these leftwing radicals on daytime tv.
See this all comes down to experience. An experienced politician would know that these loons on the view cannot be reasoned with. They’re just out to get an embarrassing sound bite. Republicans need to realize when they go on shows like this, it’s going to be a combative format. Anybody who doesn’t realize this is not worth electing.
Personally I think all Republicans should go on The View you will find real quick what candidates can debate and forcefully defend their positions and who are the pretenders
Obviously you won’t change any minds of the panelists but 1-2% of the viewers come away from the appearance with a better impression of you then it would be worth it
I wouldn’t want the vote of anyone who watched that dreck, anyway. I would lose more votes than I would gain by trying to appeal to them.
