DeSantis knows his only chance is for Trump’s legal issues to take Trump out of the running.
So while he will use this opportunity to attack Biden and the current administration he doesn’t want to dismiss or minimize the attack on Trump.
As is always the case with DeSantis, he acts with only his own best interest in mind at every point. The Biden DoJ is attacking political rival? Good opportunity to attack Biden. Trump getting attacked by the Biden DoJ? Good opportunity to knock Trump out of the running. That is the DeSantis MO.

That’s a decent point but if DeSantis is as smart as they’re portraying him or as he thinks he is, if thinks those guns won’t be pointing at him if they get rid of Pres Trump, he’s dumber than dirt.
Any Republican is the next on the ‘hit list’ if Pres Trump is gone.
I dunno why you’d expect desantis to say he’d ‘pardon’ trump. It’s an indictment not a conviction. The whole thing could be dropped tomorrow and there’d be nothing left but the headlines. To offer a pardon would imply that desantis thinks there’s some weight to the charges.
I think desantis is right to call out the DOJ for interfering in the election. If they’re going to run against each other, desantis would rather win on the debate stage rather than have the power of the state take out his rival for the nomination. Offering a pardon at this point just seems to give undeserved weight to the democrats assertions.
DeSantis was silent when Trumps home was raided.

But beware the glass house you live in. I was one of the first Trump supporters on FR, I supported him until recently. I still defend him but enough is enough. He has had multiple adulterous affairs, has involved porn stars, has made legal payments, has repeated made bad hiring choices, has very limited and fragile sense of loyalty to his employees, has lost his legacy through fleeting EOs instead of lasting legislative action, etc., etc., etc. Consider that for Trump, it's all about him, no one else ever to blame. Sorry, it is not. This is Trump, this is all Trump, and it's time to face that, accept that, and move on.
Why not focus your efforts on his friend McCarthy, get him to impeach Biden, Harris, Garland, Wray, etc. But no, that won't happen. All talk. (Another bad choice by Trump).
Yea but DeSantis isnt an outsider who showed the country a President can make promises and keep them, turning around a nation and overcoming relentless headwinds in doing so. We know Washington is a quagmire, where chaos is not resolved but curated as means of making public service a multibillion dollar industry…. So making sure anyone but Trump is on stage is a key priority for all the uniparty stooges.

Well, looking at 2024, Trump is up 7 points on Biden, and that doesn’t even include Biden’s weakness in getting many of his votes in deep blue states, where they have no effect on the Electoral College.

Do you realize how ridiculously juvenile this sounds? I mean seriously. MOST that support Desantis do so because of his conservative record inhis leadership of Florida. He is also far from a friend of the MSM. He is second (behind Trump) as the most disliked. MOST also find Trump to be an effective leader and want EITHER to win and take the swamp out. What I don’t get are those that besmearch anyone that isn’t making Trump their first choice BUT A CHOICE. You win none to your side bashing a Conservative with a stellar conservative record just because he CHOOSES to run against your chosen candidate.
