Ron DeSantis tears into DOJ as his 2024 rival is hit with seven federal charges - but stops short of saying he would pardon him

Ron DeSantis has run to the defense of his 2024 Republican rival Donald Trump to attack the Department of Justice and ask why it isn't going after Hillary Clinton or Hunter Biden - but stopped short of offering to pardon.

However DeSantis, who is second place in polls across the country, stopped short of saying he would pardon Trump if he won the 2024 race, and the former president was convicted.

DeSantis supporters have said that Trump should drop out of the White House race to the Florida governor can pardon him if he wins in 2024. Trump currently holds a considerable lead over DeSantis in the polls.

Dailymail ask the quesion, why didn't desantis say anything about pardoning Trump, and wonders why desantis didn't say anything, if he is so outraged.

desantis supporters will claim, desantis had said he would....

But that's a lie, because when previously questioned about pardoning Trump, on the clay/sexton show,

desantis said he would consider "any example of disfavored treatment based on politics or weaponization would be included in that review, no matter how small or how big" regarding pardons.

But had refused to say Trump specifically.

Playing games and jerking people around...just desantis being the lying, deceitful, corrupt politician, he's showing himself to be.

And no, I wouldn't trust desantis to actually pardon Trump.

Also, desantis made the statement, only to try to look good .

How do you know desantis was just saying it, to make himself look good, and really wasn't concerned about lawfare being used against Trump?

If desantis was concerned about people doing the right thing, he would have apologized for, and disavowed the fake, ai generated images used in his campaign ad and fired the staff that made the ad, by now, right?

Citation needed. I see no reference in the article where Desantis is asked that question. Frankly it really doesn’t even matter. This action is galvanizing support for Trump.

Your comments are just meant to incite and really silly.

DeSantis is a former Federal prosecutor himself.

As far as I’m concerned, that now disqualifies him from ever holding public office.

I am now adamant in my refusal to ever vote for a lawyer again for any elected office that doesn’t require legal credentials.

DeSantis has already shot his wad with Trump voters, so any thoughts of him getting elected to the White House are nothing other than dreaming...so his position on pardoning Trump is meaningless.

I like De Santis as Governor of Florida - want to see him FINISH his term, but, if Trump is "somehow" removed from the election process, I'm sure he thinks it's to his benefit.

Only problem for them is......all of the write in votes for Trump from his supporters even if he isn't on the ticket.....viola, another dem in power because the RINOS and Trump hating repug-nicans will do anything to stop Trump

Who cares? Why would he? Im a Trump supporter but to expect his rival to really back him up? Cmon man. In the end RDS may learn the hard way that this can literally happen to anyone. All is fair in love and war and politics. Trump wont need a pardon anyway.... a 10th grade aficionado of law could argue their way out of these charges. Id also assume that the “prosecution” understands theres a precedent waiting to be set here...and they found a box of classified docs in Bidens garage. And this is the best case they have against him lol.

desantis made the statement, only to try to look good

What unsubstantiated BS. Shall we say the same for Trump? You know, he only denied the affairs with pornstars TO LOOK GOOD? He only denied conspiracy with confidential records TO LOOK GOOD? He only denied repeated bad hiring choices TO LOOK GOO? He only denied [fill in the blank] TO LOOK GOOD?

I know you want to defend him but incessently criticizing DeSantis does nothing to support Trump. Why don't you support Trump, support Republicans, be more constructive and helpful, then this BS? I am defending Trump, I am criticizing the unfair focus on persecuting Republicans, but I still support DeSantis. Your daily and constant trash posts and comments are not only irritating but do not gain Trump a single vote. Maybe they make you feel better, but they hurt Trump, may you look pathetic, insecure.

And no, it is not fair to ask anyone to promise to pardon Trump when we don't even know the charges or evidence. Is it political persecution as appears or is there something more or different?

Political persecution or not, Trump has made a life of bad choices, maybe they are catching up to him. We can defend him, yes, but let's see what they got, okay? As far as I know, we still don't see any substance to to the New York charges, maybe this will be more of the same.

BTW, why not focus on getting Trump's friend McCarthy to immediately impeach Biden, Harris, Garland, Wray, and others? Wouldn't that be a better use of your time and energy?

You seem to keep popping up in threads and asking for citations....

Everything was in the post and you could have searched for it with a simple search.

Instead, you ask for citations, as if I’m posting lies or misrepresentations like the desantis supporters do.

Of course, you could be a desantis supporter, which would explain the constant attempts to cast dispersions.

If I have to I will write in Trump. I really do not expect to have to do that. Coup d’etat Garland is NOT going to beat us.

Why would Trump supporters continue to support the swampy GOPe, who very likely conspired and colluded with the left to throw the election and steal it from Trump....

They even gave up several senate seats, control of several state and the government, and are quite happy with the power they still have.

Just look at the latest mccarthy debt bill deal... They sold one version of a bill for a MONTH.... then over a weekend, went with what biden wanted, and almost every elected republican congressman and senator are trying to gaslight the voting public, saying they got a good deal.

b.s.

Time for them and their good ole boy rino swamp party to go away

It’s extremely insecure. I want BOTH to succeed and if one doesn’t I want the other to. Yet, nothing is ever good enough for the worshipper crowd. Nothing at all. Reagan would even be trashed if he didn’t include the entirety of the complete legal thesaurus in his rebuke of the DOJ by the worship crowd. It’s actually sickening to what extent and pretzel one must tie him/herself into to EVER question the conservatism of DeSantis. I wish BOTH men the greatest of success in their attempts to take down this regime. BOTH are important to the movement and BOTH are fantastic leaders. Why must we entrench ourselves within a circular firing squad to “one up” when both are after the same goals?

It’s downright pathetic .

If the GOP and so-called “conservatives” refuse to go to the mat to defend President Trump and our Republic against the criminal Biden administration and the Deep State, then may they all wear their chains lightly.

And that goes for DeSantis and his supporters.

Please don't debate Reno89519 in this thread

That poster has said in other threads, that will deliberately post in anti-desantis threads, to thread disrupt them and throw them off topic.

He has specifically said

So, if you stop posting negative threads about DeSantis, then everything can quiet

here

Luckily that number is small and shrinking fast.

Spot on. As I mentioned to a FReeper this morning, "Your scenario is like Goldilocks. The porridge is too little, too much, too hot, too cold, too soon, too late.”
