Back in 2019, I caught an essay by a British journalist named Annie Lord entitled "I Tried to Be Completely Sustainable for a Week." Her logic for this experiment was "If climate change responsibility is going to be foisted onto individuals rather than governments, I thought I should see how doable it is."
I am always grateful when climate activists actually try living by the standards they demand the rest of us embrace, so I read her piece with interest.
She was, in a word, miserable.
"It's lunchtime and I'm frying potatoes over a burning bin," she begins. "My bones ache from walking everywhere, my hair is greasy enough to line a cake tin, and I smell like someone who spent the whole of Boomtown eating Pot Noodles in a sleeping bag by the campfire. I'm cold because the heating has been off for days and icy wind rattles through my house's single-pane Victorian windows. I want warm car rides, true crime documentaries and beef burger juice rolling down my chin. I am so tired. … Forgoing electricity and heating in the middle of winter might sound extreme, but it seems a fairly logical step when you consider how f****d the planet is."

This sort of brainwashing is dangerous - this is how loonies that believe most of the population needs to “go away” get created.
Yup. This kind of propaganda definitely leads somewhere that’s no good. It’s happened before, and will happen again as long as history gets forgotten or revised to suit an agenda.
Child abuse , why are they not being prosecuted
The logical conclusions for jerks like that are:
1. I shouldn’t be alive. I’m using precious resources that are more valuable than me.
2. Mom & Dad should have aborted me when they had the chance.
3. All of mankind should die to save the earth.
Yet, they don’t ever take the logical step of offing themselves.
Of course not.
I thank these people for goving my kids the edge 8n the future.
Something only made possible because the people around her have excess.
If she gets her way there will be no excess, just misery.
And stealing a sausage will get her killed because it will be attempted murder.
When all other ways to terrorize people into giving up their freedom fails, climate change is a great one to fall back on.
Perhaps they do not frame it in that way but this way of thinking certainly contributes to it.

Isn’t that the truth! There was a post here a few days ago on liberals and mental health. It was a clinical study that showed that most of the people being treated for mental health problems were liberals. Of course, most of us here on FR already knew that.

I don’t know about a “large number,” but it has surely set off mass psychosis. Maybe once or twice a year I hear about a kid committing suicide over this insanity.
More common is young couples deciding against having children because “the earth is on fire and we don’t want to bring kids into this world.”
If in school and in media you were consistently being told that everything is horrible, getting worse and it is all your fault eventually that does wear at you.
It is actually a struggle to raise upbeat happy kids with all the negativity that is poured over them on a daily basis.
It used to be a rarity for young people to kill themselves, now it is common.
It’s called city life. They live in a steel, concrete and asphalt jungle then decide they know best how to control farms/food/energy. Out here in the country, we just can’t fully grasp the complete and total separation city people have for reality. They just don’t understand. They never see stars, smell a summer thunderstorm rolling in or seen blueberries in bloom. Yet they think they are green because they can’t afford a parking space.
Everyone who actually gives a damn about culture and their own children should have their kids at home for education by now. Everyone knows that the schools are into Re-Education that does not include academic subjects but only Marxist brainwashing. Some don't care and prefer their progeny to be tended by the government in public schools to keep them out of sight for the day.
