While the scale of Ukrainian battlefield losses of Western-built tanks claimed by invading Russia will obviously be taken with a pinch of salt, Kyiv is nevertheless asking Germany to send more armour east.
Leopard 2 tanks are worth “its weight in gold for the decisive offensive” and Germany should ship more of them to the front lines, so says former ambassador to Germany now working to drum up deliveries of equipment from abroad Andrij Melnyk. He said, per Germany’s Tagespiegel: “The Ukrainian army most urgently needs many more Western battle tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and other armoured vehicles”.

The paper notes Germany has donated 18 of the Leopard 2 main battle tanks so far, but has over 300 at home, so leading Melnyk to claim Berlin could spare more — as much as tripling the commitment — without “endangering” itself.

Just look at the casualty reports, Russia lost 144,000,000 and Ukraine 1. Apparently the Ghost of Kiev was shot down. Russia lost 10,000 tanks, and Ukraine none apparently.

I am currently reading William Shirer’s book “The Rise and Fall of The Third Reich”, and in it, he talks about events between 1937 and 1939 leading up to the invasion of Poland, and he related a meeting where Hitler (who had been under considerable stress leading up to the Anschluss/occupation of Austria) lost control of himself and threw himself on the floor and began chewing on the edge of a carpet!!!!!
It was second hand, so...who knows if it was true, or if it was an outright slander by William Shirer, but given what we know about Hitler, anything is possible.
Controlling the flow of information about the war is as old as war.

Shirer was the Hearst Newspaper & later, tge CBS radio correspondent in Berlin from 1934 until he “advised” to leave in early 1941. Having read Rise & Fall as well as “Berlin Diary” I have no doubt that his report is true.
It’s great for the people who are in the business of selling tanks.
