He did but he also said it depends on a bias jury against Trump. Dershowitz agreed.

I shall give you my lawyer logic. Two lawyers go into court to represent their client. He has told their client that the case is solid and winnable. End of court case, one lawyer lost. So 50% of the lawyers are wrong! Next there is a phase lawyers use among themselves, “if the law is on your side argue the law, if not pound the table” (ie bull shit your way and throw shit on the wall).

Each war is fought believing the circumstances of the previous war are still true for the new one.

Statement used to explain British losing to ragtag untrained colonials’ guerilla warfare.

And Vietnamese standoff against the WWII style set piece battles from the Americans for the first years of the war.

Admittedly, a high firepower helicopter against patriots fighting to stay out of the Dem/Soros concentration camps with 2nd amendment weapons on their front lawns is unfair.
But so is the sudden ending of certain government agents as Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn said should have been done at the start by ordinary citizens before it was too late.

May God protect us.

P.S. Will the FReeper who used to post the meme by Solzhenitsyn about that please pot it again. I can’t locate the quote. Thanks in advance.

The dems would have been better served to just beat him at the ballot box instead of going this route. They already demonstrated in 2020 that they can control elections.

But their true believers are apparently committed to this prison path for Trump. This is bizarre and way beyond political. It is personal for them. I believe the dems are thinking long term where they want it recorded that Trump died in prison.

Unfortunately Trump has made it pretty easy for them.

“not a normal person”——

That reminded me. Several Law and Order episodes had filthy defense lawyers switch suddenly to “not guilty by reason of insanity or mental defect.”

We have statements by the psychologists and psychologists and people in Congress firmly stating Trump should be removed from office under the 25th Amendment for being a narcissist and unhinged lunatic.

Turley must have forgotten the first sentence in Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution and the Clinton sock draw ruling.

Turley has always called B.S. on Dems efforts to get Trump, until this case. He thinks Trump is in legal trouble.

Of course saying this immediately drives a portion of Freepers nuts.

He probably should have said that Trump is in great shape, nothing to worry about, there is no case, it’s all unicorns and butterflies in Trumps future.

He’s got a different view reading the actual indictments. He rejects the presidential records act Clinton precedent as not being relevant.

This isn’t anything new. Mark Levin has made this point that Trump could die in prison however it should be noted these are maximum sentences. There are NO minimums for any of the charges. Would this former president (potentially future) end up at Super Max for the rest of his life over a document retention dispute? Makes no sense whatsoever.

I voted Trump twice, donated often, criticized him for self sabotage and not doing enough for 2022 candidates while collecting money in their names. I want a better Trump than Trump in 2024. The indictment makes me more inclined support him. The reality is they have so often been grasping at straws, lying about him, creating fake scandals out of whole cloth that these indictments are suspect. Sure they say no one is above the law yet we can see two tiered justice with our own eyes.

When I reflect on what we’ve seen and what we’re seeing now and what we’re likely to see next, I can only conclude that the Left isn’t just targeting Trump. They always attack Republicans but him in particular because he represents an existential threat to their monopoly on issues. 2010 then 2016 woke up complacent voters. The forgotten women and men in America as he likes to say. And these are people of all types.

They have to take down Trump to put the rest of us back in our place. I didn’t take his talking point that seriously that they are after us and he’s just standing in the way until now.

It’s why they falsely and defamingly claim MAGA is about white supremacy and antisemitism. MAGA is about core American values of hard work, opportunities and fair play for ALL, united as Americans not divided up by skin tones, sexuality, social class and gender, a rejection of checkbook diplomacy, human trafficking for big agriculture and the chamber of commerce in the form of open border policies, and not being “Uncle Sucker” for wealthy nations around the world.

Trump and MAGA is everyday Americans reset button on the corruption that’s slowly crept into the system over decades of government expansion.

For example, its a chance for Black Americans to call out failed policies and exploitive politicians and community leaders. Just because someone looks like you or shares your taste in partners, it doesn’t mean they have your best interests at heart. We see that no more clearly than how black on black crime is allowed to terrorize communities of color. That’s systemic racism but who is running the show? We must have accountability. No child deserves to grow up in unsafe neighborhoods in the United States.

I don’t know where my primary vote will go yet but Trump can certainly still earn it. I am less doubtful he can win than I was before this indictment.

btt. Turley is a Democrat !

And as for starting CW2, the "Deep State" are many things, but stupid isn't one of them.

Trump is already under 24x7 supervision by his Secret Service detail, who above all is loyal to the regime underwriting a big fat retirement pension.

I'm sure one day they will be called on to look the other way while Trump is "suicided" with CIA forged evidence of Melania being his Russian handler getting leaked to the press ...

I think Satan is actively working through the Dems including your friends, relatives, neighbors. coworkers and associates.

God stands aside, silent, and tests us good people.

Will we do his work on earth or wait for the next world for him to bring justice to the Dems and Communists through torture in Hell?

The Dems always quote render unto Caesar and turn the other cheek as the only lines they know from their atheistic or outright anti-God backgrounds. We are supposed to stop being “intolerant” of abortions, sexual perversion abominations . suppression of freedom of speech and their purely evil actions against Trump and all of us.

Are you saying a mass of people will only revolt because of a man they think is the end-all be-all?

Or that it’s the Dems starting it to turn on all “conservatives”?

I just posted that one minute ago on another thread:

"...And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward..."

There’s absolutely risk to Trump in the charges. Doesn’t mean they would have been brought if he wasn’t running in 2024 or if it was some other former president besides Donald J Trump.

His best strategy is political not legal.

Can we just agree that anyone who proffers opinions on any cable news channel is full of shit?

Turley can apparently make more money bloviating on TV than practicing law, which tells us all we need to know.

This Indictment will be taken much more seriously by law professors, journalists, lawyers, etc. than a jury composed of a cross-section of the Southern District of Florida. It’s called “over-kill.” When you slap 38 charges on a former president for basically retaining documents that he believed he could retain, you are sending a message that this is political, especially since Pence and Biden will not be indicted.
