It is not uncommon for politicians or bureaucrats to lie. What seems to be unique, though, is just how common and consequential the lies were during the COVID pandemic.
On Monday, we got a bombshell. New documents indicate the entire justification for vaccine mandates was based on a falsehood — and that public health officials knew it.
Emails obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request show that CDC Director Rochelle Walensky and former NIH Director Francis Collins were aware of, and discussed, “breakthrough cases” of COVID in January 2021 — right when the vaccines became widely available. In her email, Walensky says that “clearly,” it is an “important area of study,” links to a study raising the issue, and assures the person she is sending it to that Dr. Anthony Fauci is looped into these conversations.
However, in public, Walensky was saying something quite different. Two months after discussing this data, she said vaccinated people “don’t carry the virus” and “don’t get sick.” In a congressional hearing, after it became clear people were able to get infected with COVID even after receiving the vaccine, she defended her original statements by claiming it was true at the time she said it — namely, for the strands we were dealing with in early 2021.
We now know that was not true and that Walensky herself knew it was not true.
Jay Bhattacharya, a professor at the Stanford School of Medicine, called the revelation “stunning.” He pointed out that despite this knowledge, “they continued to push vax mandates anyway.”
This is the real scandal, as there is little harm in getting something like this wrong in a vacuum. After all, COVID-19 vaccines certainly saved many, many lives and reduced the severity of infection for many more. But the fact vaccine mandates were pushed, even though those in charge knew people could contract and spread the virus while vaccinated, is indefensible. That they mislead the public on this makes it even worse.
If the vaccine stopped COVID dead in its tracks, as Fauci explained, then the decision to institute a vaccine mandate would merely be a controversial yet ultimately legitimate public health measure. The fact it did not do that but rather had primarily personal benefits completely removes the justification for mandates.
The Biden administration tried to impose a vaccine mandate on employers, thousands of people were fired from their jobs, and there was a time when unvaccinated people were not even allowed into restaurants in some of the country’s largest cities.
And it was all based on a lie.
There must be a substantive reckoning within our public health institutions and government more generally in the aftermath of the pandemic. From vaccines to masks to schools to economic aid, it seems that each aspect of the pandemic was accompanied by its own set of lies and distortions. There is a reason trust in our institutions has taken such a hit in recent years.
If those in charge do not, at some point, recognize what they did, commit not to do it again, and actually act differently next time they are in a similar situation, then institutional trust will continue to get worse.
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t bet on it actually happening any time soon.

I would like to see a true scientific proof, evidence, and data that supports this statement. Evidence I read is many died and were injured by these injections. Additional evidence is that taking these injections makes one more susceptible to getting COVID again. I simple do not believe the referenced statement is anything but more propaganda.
What saved lives is the very nature of viruses. They mutate to become more infective and less destructive.
Tom Hanks offered blood for a possible vaccine and they said no we have an old Aids vaccine we renamed or something like that ,LOL
Vax manufacturers made billions and billions.
Politicians got their campaign coffers filled.
Control Freaks in government got more control.
Hospitals made fortunes.
WHO got way more power.
Kids are now actually dumber. IQs dropped.
The vax killed many more than they saved. And are still taking years offof lives, forever.
And we got crushed.

I don’t think this assertion is true either. The fact that hospitals weren’t over run with Covid cases after the vax can’t be the explanation because hospitals weren’t over run before the vax.
The missing piece in many Covid stories is that data out of Europe and Israel, who had an earlier exposure, told us that the vax, masks and lockdowns were ineffective. It is criminal that US health officials and politicians exploited the pandemic for their own selfish motives. Not surprising since the pandemic was a CCP bio attack on Trump. The timing was just too perfect.

This was the justification for the cheat-by-mail-in ballots for which no signature verification would be enforced. That was the only way Trump could be defeated. And so the counting was stopped at midnight on election day, and they got to work to create enough mail-ins to put the Vegetable ahead.
Any efforts by Trump to challenge or investigate the lack of signature verification with these mail-ins were stopped by Uniparty judges. All the Recounts did was to literally recount the fraudulent votes and give cover to the press bleatings of "They did recounts and recounts and Trump still lost."

What you say is true, but consider that it does not appear to me that companies these days care a whole lot about making money. They care more about doing what the Gov tells them to do, even if it means they go out of business.
If it was about money, every illegal alien would have been shot up to the gills.
So if it was not about money.... what was it about?
Hell, they are STILL pushing the vaxx.
Just like most things in the country now: we know what happened, we know it was wrong, we know we are outraged, we know people were hurt and we know the guilty parties.
We talk and talk and talk about it but NOTHING IS DONE to prosecute and punish the guilty or to undo or at least compensate the wrong.

What did Rochelle Walensky know, and when did she know it?
A reference to “breakthroughs” from January 2021 doesn’t make any sense. The first HCW were vaccinated on 12/16/20. Their second doses started 1/6/21.
Standard responses to other vaccines would project that “protection” (if it existed) for these individuals would begin on approximately 1/20/21.
The first “breakthrough” cases were reported in the medical literature and observed in clinical practice in May 2021. It was the large Provincetown MA outbreak over July 4, 2021 and its subsequent CDC outbreak report the last week of July 2021 that made it clear that 2 doses of an mRNA vaccine administered 21-28 days apart would not provide protection against infection or transmission.
CDC made many false statements about vaccine properties and vaccine efficacy after that last week in July 2021, but in January 2021 it was not expected by anyone that individuals vaccinated between 12/16/20 and 1/6/21 would have any substantial protection.
Where’s that wanker who always shows up on these threads and says “Well, all vaccines fail to prevent you from getting sick or transmitting a disease 1% of the time, so one that fails 99% is should still be called a vaccine.”
It is stunning to realize how the medical professionals (the ones with medical licenses, and education, and all that “stuff”) were bamboozled.
While many people who understand things like numbers and statistics (e.g., engineers, accountants) were unconvinced of the need for and/or safety of the “vaccines”.
As this whole Covid pandemic thing comes into greater focus one inescapable conclusion is that the Conspiracy is/was a Conspiracy of Incompetents (sic), as in Incompetent “experts”.
People who could barely find their own butt with both hands were making life and death decisions about YOU and ME and OUR FAMILIES!
