From a purely economic viewpoint, it is not the illegal that is costing us, it is the welfare to illegals and their children that is costing us.

Lately one of the Little Men (dressed up with jeans, sweatshirt-hoodie pulled over his head, baseball cap, backpack) has taken up residence on a corner in a nearby neighborhood. He sits on a fire hydrant in the early morning, on his cell phone (paid for by who?), perhaps on the lookout for some day labor pickups. More recently I heard a child's voice on the other end of the line as he was on his phone, a little child. Bet he's not here legally. Is his still paying off his coyote? Who hires him?
