Robert F. Kennedy Jr. used a townhall in New Hampshire to explain he is not going to take guns and the approach of trying to do so would not stop school shootings.
National Gun Rights Association’s Will Fite tweeted about the townhall on Saturday after RFK Jr. stressed that he is not going to take away guns.
Moreover, he pointed to the Supreme Court of the United States Bruen (2022) decision and noted it is not possible to “do anything” to secure gun control, even if someone wanted more of it.
RFK Jr. focused on school shootings and rejected claims that taking guns would be effectual in stopping such attacks anyway.
He said, “Anyone who tells you that we can end the violence to our children that’s going on now by removing people’s guns, in the margin that has been left to us by this very expansive Supreme Court decision [Bruen] is not being truthful with you.”
RFK Jr. emphasized that “something has changed in this country. It’s not the guns, we’ve always had the guns.” He believes the focus should shift from guns to investigating how psychiatric drugs impact kids.

I would never vote for RFK Jr either, but I hope he can cause massive chaos among the RATS. It will be fun watching the media and the Democrats tearing into the Kennedy mystique just to bring down RFK Jr if he gains traction in the primaries.

Looks like he’s got a strong chance to win in either the Iowa caucuses or the New Hampshire primary, possibly both. At that point he’ll be the cannonball breaking the ice under Biden. That will set off a feeding frenzy that Newsom is likely to win. Heat up the popcorn, because it is going to be fun these next few months
On June 5, 2023, Breitbart News reported on a conversation between Elon Musk and RFK Jr., in which RFK Jr. said, “My position on gun control is that I’m not going to take away anybody’s guns. I’m a constitutional maximalist and the issue has been settled by the Supreme Court.”

Stunning to hear a Democrat say something so obviously true about guns.
It’s a shame. A self-serving airhead like Newsome vs. someone intelligent like Kennedy. All Newsome has to do is smile and say the magic word, “abortion” and half of the suburban women will swoon for him like they did for Bill Clinton. Kennedy admits that leftist orthodoxies like gun control don’t reduce violence and that something has changed society and made it more violent and we should investigate that. Someone like that won’t get far in today’s Democrat Party.

I think you are correct-my parents were conservative Republican voters-they hated LBJ but they were just fine with Kennedy-being a kid, I didn’t pay much attention to any of that-but as an adult, I certainly know that JFK could not be a democrat today-he would barely qualify as a RINO-probably the same for RFK Sr...
One of the best things about RFK’s candidacy is that it will keep Dems from switching parties to vote for Trump in the GOP primaries.
