The border has never been under control under any president, that is the problem. Covid helped stop illegals and terrorism. Going back to the new nafta argument, what were the top 5 points that trump got done with new nafta to stop illegals? Great talking point if there is one.
Too many here mock Trump’s accomplishments and intrepid persistence to deliver on his promises while forgetting/ignoring the Establishment’s continuous assault on his Presidency.

I appreciate DeSantis’ determination on building a wall on the southern border. Trump had the same determination. Trump tried and actually managed to build several hundred miles of wall. However, Trump had the Democrats, Republicans, Courts, media, and especially the unseen and unacknowledged “deep-state” all working against him on the issue. Should DeSantis be elected President, I wish him the best in getting it done. Of course, at the same time he will be facing the accusations of being a “Nazi” and “worse than Trump”. I’m sure they also have a unique opposition plan in the works that has been created just for DeSantis. He think he is facing criticism now, just wait until the left really goes after him!
The media framed it as a “racist” wall that Trump was building against the will of the voters and only because he hated minorities. The Court’s basically ruled he didn’t have the authority to spend the money to do such a thing, which was quite the opposite of their rulings on Biden and his authority to control both the border and the money allocated to do so.
In effect, the Courts have ruled there is a “Trump exception” to all laws and regulations. The media has backed up that narrative by helpfully explaining that only governmental alphabet agencies had the authority to impose any border allowances or restrictions when Trump was President. However now, that that Biden is in the White House it is totally the decision of the President (or something along those lines). I’m sure you understand their reasoning.
The “Trump exception” is now precedent and can be used against any GOP President.

The problem is, very few people in Congress really give a
hoot over the issue. I don’t care how good a president is,
he/she can’t tighten down the ship if no one backs him at
the upper levels of our government.

You can no longer search for any of the independent groups that try to keep track of illegal aliens that are crossing into our nation. All “google” or other search engines simply send you to hit pieces by the SPLC or articles by the NYTs and WaPo denigrating conservatives for their hatred of immigrants. They will not even name the sites so you can go and review the information yourself, but simply call them conservative “hate sites”.
I was looking for a graph that I had looked at recently showing the increase in illegal border crossings since Biden took office, and although I believe I remember the name of the site from which I saw the graph, even a search of that site’s name and the words “illegal immigration” returns no results other than leftist sites. That is true for Google, Brave, and Duck-duck-go.
Young people are now dependent on search engines for their information regarding basic facts. All facts are now slanted to the leftist view and have been now for several years. Therefore, the youth are never introduced to an opposing view in basic research.
For instance, the description of “NumbersUSA” on Google is
“NumbersUSA is an anti-immigration advocacy organization”. No slant there, of course.
Those search engines insist they use unbiased algorithms Yeah, right.
