The Trump administration constructed 453 miles of border wall over four years, and a vast majority of the new barriers reinforced or replaced existing structures. Of that, about 47 miles were new primary barriers.

The United States’ southwestern border with Mexico is over 1,900 miles, and during his campaign, Mr. Trump had vowed to build a wall across the entire border and make Mexico pay for it. Mexico did not pay for the barriers that had been constructed.

More lies. Much of the border has natural barriers where walls were never planned nor needed.

Meatball is a transparent liar- he and his Uniparty backers won’t do shit on the border save managing the invasion slightly more efficiently. Fortunately, he will never be President nor nominee- frankly, I would advocate driving any elected who endorses him out of the party writ large- alone with the rest of the neocon filth they can go back to their true home in a globalist Democratic communist party.

Trump had to work around obstructionist Paul Ryan and get creative for the funding. He also had to deal with the Courts. He never backed down, andnever walked it back. Mexico paid for part of the broader efforts at border enforcement including tariffs and Stay in Mexico policy, as well as Mexico stepping up encorcement at the Guatemalan border.

a vast majority of the new barriers reinforced or replaced existing structures.

Yeah, they were chained link fences that were easily breached with no effort whatsoever.

What an appropriate moniker you have given yourself. Gag me with your humor.

Also. it was Congress who refused to appropriated the money, even though both House of Congress had Republican majorities. We have already seen that DeSantis is controlled like a puppet by the Deep State, when he said Ukraine wasn't important, and then within 24 hours changed his tune when they scolded him for his statement.

It's amazing how so man people on this board knows little about the corruption that exists within both political parties, or even how thinks get done. We do not elect a dictator that has full control over getting things accomplished. But even with his own party obstructing him, he still managed to accomplish quite a lot.

I suggest you read the Constitution. It is not a very big document.

And did so with NO help from Congress.

Please, DeSoros, tell me how you will work with an oppositional legislature, since you’ve never had one?

Trump renegotiated the trade agreements with Mexico and
Canada.

Under the Mexican portion the US saved about $15 billion per
year. That continues each year going forward.

Who paid for the wall?

The existing wall along the border before Trump’s wall as
in some places no more than barbed wire fencing. At no place
was it impenetrable.

Trump was denied funding for the wall by the Republican
majority House and Senate from 2017 through 2018. Now
you seek to blame him for not following through.

He had execute a go-around to get funding. Then he
was taken to court to block him building the wall.

To get 450 miles, he fought the Democrats on Capital Hill.
He fought the Republicans there. He fought legal battles
all the way up to the SCOTUS.

Trump did his best to get the wall built. I don’t believe
there was another man alive who could have done what he
did regarding the wall.

“The Trump administration constructed 453 miles of border wall over four years, and a vast majority of the new barriers reinforced or replaced existing structures.”

And your point is? The existing structures were merely landmarks to let the illegals know when they had passed into the United States and definitely not a hindrance to anyone. And it is closer to 600 miles built.

“Mr. Trump had vowed to build a wall across the entire border and make Mexico pay for it. Mexico did not pay for the barriers that had been constructed.”

No, no, no. I was here. Trump spoke of natural land form barriers that needed no wall. You are, ahem, lying. And, in case you don’t know, Trump did not get a chance to finish the wall.

As far as making Mexico pay for it, I heard some of his people explain that the stoppage of illegals from Mexico would end the billions of dollars sent back to relatives in Mexico by the illegals. It is an enormous sum of money, much more than the cost of the wall, and the Mexican government loves it. Helps them out too.

More Ron....I mean, we’re in congress with the pure strings. Trump built a lot of the wall and what wasn’t built is because you in the congress would rather secure the borders of other Countries.

I appreciate DeSantis’ determination on building a wall on the southern border. Trump had the same determination. Trump tried and actually managed to build several hundred miles of wall. However, Trump had the Democrats, Republicans, Courts, media, and especially the unseen and unacknowledged “deep-state” all working against him on the issue. Should DeSantis be elected President, I wish him the best in getting it done. Of course, at the same time he will be facing the accusations of being a “Nazi” and “worse than Trump”. I’m sure they also have a unique opposition plan in the works that has been created just for DeSantis. He think he is facing criticism now, just wait until the left really goes after him!

The media framed it as a “racist” wall that Trump was building against the will of the voters and only because he hated minorities. The Court’s basically ruled he didn’t have the authority to spend the money to do such a thing, which was quite the opposite of their rulings on Biden and his authority to control both the border and the money allocated to do so.

In effect, the Courts have ruled there is a “Trump exception” to all laws and regulations. The media has backed up that narrative by helpfully explaining that only governmental alphabet agencies had the authority to impose any border allowances or restrictions when Trump was President. However now, that that Biden is in the White House it is totally the decision of the President (or something along those lines). I’m sure you understand their reasoning.

The “Trump exception” is now precedent and can be used against any GOP President.

As I recall, and corrections cheerfully entertained, Mister Trump's wall was falling way, way behind; and it was none other than Ann Coulter who drew attention to the lapses, and made a public issue.

An embarrassed Trump (still, IIRC) then put more energy into the process, getting much of it accomplished by 2020.

I don't see the incomplete wall as anything other than a participation ribbon for Mister Trump.
