I've been seriously puzzled at what seems to be an exclusively American condition. That being that when institutions and systems empowered to improve a condition in society fail us repeatedly and often, we respond with demanding more of the same?

Crime, education, poverty, racism, immigration, elections, air travel, policing, taxation, public schools, teachers, yadda, yadda.

The American solution is to pay more and expect less of whatever it is the institutions are empowered to deliver to society?

Americans have a serious mental deficiency.
