Trump never lets up. That’s why we support him. The best way to keep your opposition off-balance is to constantly attack. Now if DeSantis ignores these comments he looks weak. If he responds to them, then Trump has succeeded in getting him off his game and changing his focus.
Does Trump have a big ego? Yeah. Who cares. His me, me, me narrative is a great communications strategy, which I’m sure he understands very well. Keeping your name constantly in the news cycle is an effective way to control the narrative, but it only works if you have a significant following to begin with.
DeSantis wants desperately to ignore Trump and campaign as if he’s not there. His strategy is to focus on Biden and all the wonderful things he’ll do once President, not on whether or not he’s better than Trump. If that becomes the focus of his campaign he knows he will lose. Trump’s constant attacks on DeSantis make it hard for his campaign strategy to work.
