Ditto
We need energy, so let’s demolish hydroelectric plants. Environmentalists are crazy.
Yes. It’s going to cause tremendous harm to the ag economy of southern Oregon and they don’t really have any other economy. In 50 years they’ll be putting the dams back in.
That's exactly their plan. Remember the Georgia Guidestones? "Maintain population at 500,000,000 in harmony with nature."
Guess who they don't want to include in that 500 million?
That would be us. They want a small class of technorati to maintain their own comforts and a cadre of brown, low IQ slaves to perform grunt work.
How is hydro electric power too costly?
I’m missing facts here.
Is it this particular series of dams or in general?
As far as I understand , hydro electric is the cheapest’ “cleanest” energy possible, it’s just using turbines to take advantage of already flowing water, with an added bonus of flood control.
“Native” salmon. Even though it is the same DNA that is sold in grocery stores.
Germany is giving us a run for the money of suicidal nations.
Good. Now do Hetch Hetchy in California.
True enough.
Coho salmon.
There will be some entertaining books written in the next few decades about how American society was completely eliminated by sheer stupidity over the course of about two generations.
I lived in Klamath Falls for 2 years. I don’t recall much agriculture other than ranching. That was 2000 to 2002
Well they might as well remove it since they have all the electricity and water they will ever need anyway. Just don’t let them buy power off of our grid.
I didn’t know Jeff had passed away. I knew him. He was a good man. When did it happen?
These insane libs will wonder why they have floods and no power for their EVs.
Anyway, in looking him up, I was gratified to see he had taken up the banner for General Michael Flynn, and it was a cause for him (as it is for me). Jeff was involved in efforts to raise money, get petitions signed, etc. It reinforced my gut feeling that even though I did not know him personally, he was a Patriot. That he devoted his last days and posts on FR to his outrage at the treatment of General Flynn speaks volumes to me, as I had independently researched and compiled a chronological timeline of the Persecution of General Michael Flynn:
LINK: TIMELINE OF THE GOVERNMENTAL ABUSE OF LT. GENERAL MICHAEL FLYNN (PDF Format)
It is 12 pages in a spreadsheet format with links, explanations, significant dates, and people involved. It looks like this, and surprisingly, many of the links are still functional.
I put it together because what was done to him by the Left (and some of "our" people too) just disgusted me so deeply I had to ensure I understood what was done to him. Doing it in this format really made the malignant behavior done by those determined to do him in really stand out.
I did not know Jeff Head personally. But I respected the hell out of his worldwide knowledge of Naval capability, and his ability to build models and customize them really blew me away. He was a Patriot, may he RIP.
Fair Winds, and Following Seas, Jeff.
You know, I’m not sure. Some years back, he was in a bad way with cancer, and then he went dark. Understandable. And yes, he was a good man. He fought for what was right even at some personal cost.
Thank you for this information. I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff at my old place in Spirit Lake, ID. Had a grill-up and a meet n greet with a few other local Freepers. That 2as a decade or so ago. Had a most enjoyable chat.
In the process to examine whether relicensing made sense, FERC projected the cost of Klamath hydroelectricity would be 8.6 cents/kWh after relicensing - not including the cost of meeting water quality standards if possible. FERC’s estimate of the additional increment of cost from dam removal to any replacement power costs is 2.4 cents/kWh.
You were dealing with a series of 4 dams the oldest of wch was 100 years old. Old equipment breaks, sediment accumulates. All while per generation technologies have become more efficient. As a ratepayer, why would you want more expensive power with the added benefit of algae filled stagnant water not fit for recreation and fish kills?
