It’s arguable that hunting is more barbaric than just slitting the throat of a contained animal. In the latter case, if it’s done well, the animal doesn’t really know what has happened, and doesn’t undergo a lot of fear and pain.

I’ve been in the woods where lousy bow hunters have left blood all over the place while they chased and shot over and over again.

Fear and pain are the main problems with death - for animals AND humans.

My thoughts too.

The crime was keeping sheep in an apartment. Sheep stink.

Hunting is a merciful act that keeps the numbers down so hordes of animals don’t starve in the winter. It also decreases the number of animals killed by vehicles and left quivering on the road.
