"Why is the ap pushing desanctomonious?"
Maybe we Floridians would like to know what the new laws say.

I know he thinks he can drive all that through at the federal
level, but that thought reveals how easy he has had it in
Florida. His Legislature is Conservative. Wait until he
runs into one that isn’t. He clearly doesn’t grasp that yet.

Trump could tell him a thing or two about having the majority
too, since guys like a Ryan or McConnell can at will refuse
to comply with your campaign promises or desires, no matter
how good they would be for the nation.

I do like these things in Florida. I’ve appreciated what
Ron has done down there, and that’s a major reason why I’m
not upset he won’t be leaving anytime soon.

Lots of anti-DeSantis posts here.

Question: have you folks considered the situation that (if Mister Trump wins the nom) that you will need us DeSantis supporters (as well as Indies) and others who comprise the insulted ones?

Wise leaders know the value of tact and diplomacy.

Unwise candidates (the unpresidential, character-lacking, the unwilling to think before posting or acting) will not advance to the POTUS. Even though I, and many other DeSantis supporters will vote for Trump if he wins the nom, Trump can never win the general. And, it's Trump's fault.

Agreed. FL GOP is great. US GOP is full of scum bags.

That’s probably true.

I have to amend that a little.

While I lean in that direction, even in California we have
some pretty solid Conservatives. We are outnumbered by 3-4:1
though.

There are good people even in bad states.

DeSantis just won a four year term as Governor of Florida. He reneged on his contract with Florida voters. Is that wise?

Sitting Governors, Senators, Congressmen, and even mayors run for higher office quite frequently, my good FRiend.

Typically, these candidates do quite well in their home states, both in the primary and the general.

BTW, did Governor DeSantis expressly state that he would not run? I think that it was more-or-less expected among the fine Floridian voters that he might.

Why are you attacking the best governor in the United States. What is your ulterior motive?

DeSantis just won a four year term, my friend. Are you telling me DeSantis had no idea he was going to run for POTUS?

Of course not, my excellent FRiend.

I'm saying that it's far from unusual, or wrong, for folks to run for one office while considering running for a higher office mid term.

And, it's done in plain sight. Every political observer thought that Governor DeSantis was a likely candidate for POTUS. It's been newsy for long before the Gov elections.

...[DeSantis] manipulated the Republican-run State Legislature to change the law so that he didn't have to resign to run...

* * *

Good point, mass55th.  And remember he also had Florida's political sunshine laws changed to allow him to completely hide his travel logs from the voters.  Talk about a lack of transparency.  He's stolen a few pages from d'RATS.

If Casey DeSantis is now going out to campaign on her own, methinks it won't be too long before DeSnake Hiss slithers back to his governor office desk in Tallahassee.

Thanks for the info on the Sunshine Laws. I hadn’t known that.
