Team DeSantis celebrates the end of Pride Month with zinger aimed at Trump
American Wire News ^ | July 1, 2033 | Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Governor Ron DeSantis’ campaign team released a wild culture war ad on Friday taking aim at former President Trump as Pride Month ends, using clips from “American Psycho” and “The Wolf of Wall Street” to hammer home the Florida firebrand’s leadership on issues.

“To wrap up ‘Pride Month,’ let’s hear from the politician who did more than any other Republican to celebrate it…” the DeSantis War Room tweeted with a compilation of clips showing Trump’s ties to the LGBTQ and transgender community.

The video begins with a 2016 clip of Trump telling the Republican National Convention, “I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens,” utilizing a rainbow pride flag superimposed over his image. It then showcases a number of clips of Trump with transgender Caitlyn Jenner, who is also a Republican. Then a graphic shows DeSantis with lightning bolts shooting out of his eyes next to the word “NO.”

Ads by The ad is sure to offend Trump supporters and it enraged leftist media outlets as well such as Mediaite which branded it as “bizarre” and “unhinged.” But the ad will no doubt appeal to certain demographics which was the point. It is also intended to show that DeSantis will protect children no matter what and that he stands strongly against elements of the transgender movement.

The ad touts the headline, “DeSantis Signs ‘Most Extreme Slate of Anti-Trans Laws in Modern History,’” as energetic music plays in the background and images of DeSantis stream.

According to Mediate, the ad also uses clips of necrophiliac-serial killer-rapist Patrick Bateman from “American Psycho,” British gangster Tommy Shelby from “Peaky Blinders,” and convicted fraudster Jordan Belfort from “Wolf of Wall Street” in what appears to make the point that DeSantis will fight evil.

A stylized graphic toward the end of the ad shows DeSantis depicted as an alligator with reptile eyes and spiky teeth, again in an effort to show his strength. Images of Spartans are also interspersed in the ad and, finally in another play off of “Wolf of Wall Street,” the ad declares that a real wolf has finally arrived.

Trump supporters and leftists viciously attacked the ad online.

A conservative Florida LGBTQ group called the Log Cabin Republicans took issue with the ad.

“Today’s message from the DeSantis campaign War Room is divisive and desperate. Republicans and other commonsense conservatives know Ron Desantis has alienated swing-state and younger voters,” the group wrote on Friday.

“Conservatives understand that we need to protect our kids, preserve women’s sports, safeguard women’s spaces and strengthen parental rights, but Ron DeSantis’ extreme rhetoric goes has just ventured into homophobic territory.”

“Desantis’ rhetoric will lose hard-fought gains in critical races across the nation. This old playbook has been tried in the past and has failed – repeatedly,” the group proclaimed. “Left-wing gays have tried to hijack the equality movement by pushing their radical sex and gender policies on children while slandering anyone who disagrees with them.”

“Ron DeSantis and his team can’t tell the difference between commonsense gays and the radical Left gays. He, sadly, sees them all the same. His naive policy positions are dangerous and politically stupid,” they charged.

Charles T. Moran, the national president of Log Cabin Republicans, also condemned DeSantis in his own post.

“You could have gone after radical queers, @RonDeSantis – but instead you went after the ones who win the @GOP votes and get Republicans elected. People like me,” he wrote. “Wrong fight to pick, bud.”

Are you saying that Trump lost those elections? Because there is plenty of evidence of theft in all of those elections, & RINO Republican members of the Uniparty assisted the Democrats in those election thefts to protect their enriching themselves trough they slurp from, along with the Deep State criminal enterprise.

Quit being a dolt, by listening to the lying GOPe propaganda narratives they spew forth like vomit from a cannon barrel.

When are you going to learn the GOPe doesn't care about the base, this nation, or the American citizens. Both political parties are grifters. Wake up. They are lying to you right now by saying they like trumps policies, but Trump is bad. DJT scares them because he threatens their sweetheart arraignment they use to enrich themselves with, as well as, the power it provides them with. For the Republican It's mostly about the money. For the Democrats, it's about the money & the power. That's why the Democrats keep winning.

DeSantis putting out videos that appeal to some of the base with plausible deniability?

Trump to make DeSantis look extremist?

Democrats to make DeSantis unappealing to their base?

[Trump had 50,000 people showing up at his rallies, Biden maybe 50. And Biden is who Americans wanted???? Fat chance

If we don’t fight to end election fraud we are hosed.]

Rallies are expensive wastes of money and more of an exercise in ego-stroking than anything else. Romney had big rallies. He got a bigger % of the popular vote than Trump in both of Trump’s elections. And Romney was running against Obama, universally acknowledged to be a rare political talent with stratospheric approval ratings even today, whatever his shortcomings as president.

https://today.yougov.com/topics/politics/articles-reports/2021/07/27/most-and-least-popular-us-presidents-according-ame

The Romans used to hold rallies, but only after big military victories. They called them triumphs.

Reagan seldom held rallies. He won 44 states on his first try and 49 on his second. Popular vote margin was 10% in 80, 18% in 84.

You’re not serving yourself well.

You aren’t happy about affirmative action being struck down?

You’re not happy about Roe vs Wade?

No you have your snide comments about Stacy Adams to fall
back on.

Pathetic.

You guys have turned into clowns. You think you’re serving
‘the cause’ so valiantly, but who set up taking those two
very important issues down? Trump.

During the 2017-2018 Congress the Republicans refused to
work with Trump.

And in the 2022 election they did the same thing. Then
folks like you pipe up about how Trump did this or didn’t
do that.

You really don’t know what’s going on do you.

Too bad DeSantis and Trump can’t work together. Trump as president and DeSantis as Vice. After Trump is finished DeSantis could continue to turn things around. Unfortunately either one has an ego about as big as a barn door and more often than not let their mouth’s get the best of them. Too bad as either one has a lot to offer to this country which is in desperate need of some good leadership. Well, maybe I am just dreaming?

[Nonsense. DeSantis is saying, “I thank God im not a sinner like him”.]

The ad literally points to Trump’s statements in favor of Sodom and Gomorrah. No one’s saying Trump’s a sodomite - the reference is to Trump’s own words in support of sodomites.

What is with that gay party going on at Mar-A-Lago while Trump is away?
